For the most part, any of the 1995 CD's are OK.
(except for Ruben & the Jets... the original version
was never officially released on any CD... the CD
version was remixed in the '80s, and sounds DIFFERENT...)

But if you want more detailed answers... here's a good site:
http://www.lukpac.org/~handmade/patio/vinylvscds/complete.html
Not sure how up to date it is though.

re: Ruben & the Jets...

What I mean by DIFFERENT is,
it sounds like it was RE-RECORDED
in the '80s, because a lot of it
ACTUALLY WAS RERECORDED. I actually
prefer the original 1967 version.
(and have a copy)

Oh thank you for the link, that is just what I need! I hope it's updated..

I know the story about Ruben! :(
As far as I see, there's a lot complications like these, We're Only In It..., for example.

Well, the 1995 "We're Only In It..."
is good enough. The older version
of the CD is a REMIX version that
Zappa did around the time he REMIXED
Ruben and the Jets. I have the 1995 CD,
and a COPY of the remix version, as I didn't
feel it was worth hunting down a legal copy.
I definately have Ruben & the Jets on vinyl.
