I adore that they (and I can't believe I'm using that phrase for one of the comics) got what his concern level for Dawn right. I love that he went there for Dawn and not Buffy considering how he left. Now all I have to hope for is that Buffy gets that he's not there for her and it bothers her enough to admit how she feels.
The scene I posted made me actually squee! Spike loves Dawn, genuinely loves her and feels responsible for her. We haven't seen signs of that in canon really since early season 6. And the comics have ignored that so far; this goes a long way to healing my heart.
I love Spuffy but I know I'm never going to get that from the comics. And I love Spike acting more like the Spike in my head; he still loves Buffy, but she's not the central point his whole life pivots around any more.
