I think you should DEFINITELY make some kind of cyberpunk AU because there is never enough cyberpunk AU. FCBM: a group of highly trained mercenary hackers, taking down the biggest corporation in the world: FIFA! A ragtag group of minorly-enhanced humans going to war in Cyberspace! Creations of AIs with human names! A PSEUDO GHOST IN THE SHELL CROSSOVER, with Fips as the Puppetmaster, controlling EVERYONE ELSE and some of them don't know and others LIKE IT.

I am really glad you know something about GitS as it is my favoritest thing EVER. Like, it's kind of ridiculous how much I adore it. I just didn't want Fips to be purely AI, and the Puppetmaster was the closest I could get to what I was trying to describe without going full-on Neuromancer!Wintermute (though how incredible would THAT be), so, uh, yes, I know I'm mixing things up, thanks for not holding it against me!

OMG I did not even consider the Appleseed idea but with CHELSEA EVEN BETTER YES.

FIFA could be, uh...they could sponsor cyborgs the way that Adidas or Nike do now, and try to sabotage anyone not on their payroll? Or maybe FIFA as the establishment (aka current-day GOP) who is going absolutely nuts and trying to assign genders/remove Ghosts from the net/REMOVE THE NET.
