He told me his mom wants me involved in his sister's wedding proceedings because, according to her, "she's going to be part of the family anyway."

don't look at it as pressure (trying hard to keep a straight face) or that anyone is rushing you. assuming that he's someone you can see yourself living the rest of your life with (yeah, i know, i'm really cruel but my kids both moved out and have lives of their own and you're making this so easy.) you should take it as the compliment that they probably mean it as.
it's not really THAT bad is it?

I suppose my panic may be out of proportion...but it's one thing to consider marrying a guy in a few years, and another to get drafted into the In-law Immersion Programme at this stage...
I guess I'm pretty nervous about making a good impression.

it's an opportunity to make friends and get close to those friends. *hugs* just take all 'in law' comments and attitude with a grain of salt and a smile.
