<-----That's Captain. Trying out a new userpic.....we'll see how it goes.

I think I've mentioned it before, but my summer assignment for AP Government is to keep notes/watch the headlines of current events over the summer. The second day of school, we're going to have a quiz :S So, I've been keeping notes like a fiend lately. On all sorts of things ( Read more... )

I can't remember if I commented on your last post with photos, but Captain is very cute!

I always feel like during the summer I get left behind on current events since I basically live at the barn -- seems like a quiz on the second day of school is good incentive to keep up! haha.

Sounds like next year will be busy for you ;). AP Gov and AP Lit! Although with AP classes it seems like the classes themselves aren't hard, it's just that final time right before the exams where you feel totally overwhelmed by the fact that now you have to retain everything you've learned about that subject in the last year... *shudder* But right now I'm in the "waiting for my results" period for the tests I took last year, which is one of the worst parts of this whole AP process. Boo.

Hmm, this has been a long comment! lol.

lol.

Thanks!! I'nne? He's such a love.

I know! I have to make a concious effort to keep up, with riding basically all the time and 'living' at the barn...lol. I really do love news and current events though :D

I'm really excited for the AP classes. It'll actually be students who care about their future and want to be there, vs. the ones who are just there because they have to be. ya know?

Long comments are my forte :) lol.

I know exactly what you mean! Honors classes at my school hardly start til junior year, and when I hit those I sighed a BIG sigh of a relief. After sophomore year I didn't really take a single class that wasn't honors, AP, or similar. It's nice to be around like-minded people who actually care about learning and (usually) aren't as disruptive to a learning environment.

mmmhmm. I made the mistake of not taking Honors English 11....uggghhhh. I so wish I had. Our class ended up getting to watch all the good movies(The Crucible, Last of the Mohicans, Dead Poets Society, ect..)that the Honors teacher doesn't show...but that's about the end of the good things.

EXACTLY :D Plus I feel like a winner not being the 'senior' doing yearbook, weight training and HAVING to take gov, while complaining the whole time that I'm a senior and can do whatever the hell I want...ugghh.

lol.

ehh it's not to bad. Gives me a legit. reason to surf both TV and online..heh. Plus I sorta have a weakness for the news channels...go figure.

I was going to set the timer on my camera and actually have riding pics..but the rain decided to stay all day long :( Hopefully I'll be able to get out and ride tomorrow and have pictures in tow :)

Ahh, I feel like such a hick now. I absolutely REFUSE to watch the news- too much negativity for me.
I enjoy learning, but solidly on my own terms. I used to be a straight-A kind of person who would have loved summer assignments.. but I hit a large emotional roadblock around age 13 and have been scraping by with 51% ever since. Increasing talks of dropping out completely after this summer. It does make me sad in a way, but I've changed so much that I know I can't go back.

Can't wait for pics! If you manage to take them with a timer, I'll applaud you. I still can't take a proper video still, haha.

yeah..there is a TON of negativity, just yesterday some Palestinian militant ran over some Israelis just outside the building that houses the AP and media offices, with a earthmover. uggghhhhhhh. Sometimes, there are little diamonds of goodness though :) I love learning...I sound like a nerd. lol.

At least you know your limits/changes that you aren't continually beating yourself up. I know I'd keep trying, eventually just wearing my self out completely, wondering why I can't seem to go back to how I used to be....it'd be badbadbadbadbad. Kudos to you for know when enough is enough!(Which is more than I can say for myself, a lot of the time!) :)

I've got a distinct feeling pics will be alot of random body parts captured on camera....hah. The only video still I can manage is putting it through Windows Movie Maker and then praying to the gods of technology to have a good still turn out :D
