Damn you, freakylynx.

Poll Working from homeI suspect I will be slightly more efficient than working at work, partially from the not having to recover from and pack for commuting, and partially from the less distractions. I do a lot of my reading and finding journal article type research from home. I'm probably about as efficient, but part of that is because my home internet is way faster, so I can load papers faster, and I read at the same speed. Also I dick around at work a reasonable amount, which combined with the higher searching efficiency balances out the dicking around working from home.
Sadly I can't get a lab attached to my home, that would be great for those times when I get inspired to do an experiment at like 11 at night. And just the general coolness of having a lab at home.

You could move closer to work. One of my friends used to live across the street from her lab while she was a grad. Came in handy when she had to check a culture at 4am.

I doubt I could move closer to work. I live about 5 minutes away in light traffic, which is really wonderful (and I'm a similar distance from school). The problem is going into work late at night is a pain in the balls because of security and safety regulations. As odd as it seems, they don't really like it when we pop in to work to try something in the middle of the night. And I want a lab just for the mad scientist coolness factor. shrug
