Rememberance of a Typewriter

When you are the child of a hoarder, you become aware of how emotion and sentiment can anchor an item to someone. It's something I've been fearful of most of my life. I do, in fact, still have all of my childhood toys... I've tried to keep them neat and compact, try only to highlight specific ones still relevant. I would hope if he saw it you could relay some of the sentiments of this story. The typewriter helped you as a budding creative mind to produce some writing, and you truly appreciated the thought behind him making it work... but now we do live in the computer age, and the item has served its purpose (faithfully and completely.) It doesn't make sense for it to take up space now, so thinning down should be okay (I would hope that with all your mom's stuff around, he would understand as well.) :)
