Bastion RPG: A Start

I keep thinking about a super-high powered RPG that can be described in one sentence as:
The high-powered insanity of 20th Level D&D, Rifts, Conan's epic stories, Kane's books and Elric's tragedy; these heroes strive to fight a threat larger than their own universe while conquering whole new worlds.

Traveller character generation is about your career. You roll to see if you can join a service of your choice, if not you get assigned one. Then each term of 4 years you roll for duty which determines your promotion and survival difficulties. If you survive you roll to see if they keep you on. After four terms you start to loose stats due to aging ( ... )

Thanks for the Traveller info! I tried to track down that Java generator, but no luck. I'll have to see if I can't find a copy of the book somewhere.

He-man! Yeah, this game is totally He-Man and Conan stop fighting with Mumm-Ra and Thulsa Doom in order to conquer something larger. Of course, they'll probably still fight. And that's where the story happens.

Hey, great! Right now it's a bunch of design notes, but you can be sure I'll let you know when I think it's ready.

Thanks!

Sounds pretty sweet so far Zak, I'd be interested in seeing what else you have for it. If you get a chance, and haven't already, you might want to take a look at the core book for Exalted 2e, since the default PC type, the Solars, are returning god kings with immense power (compared to mortals) at character creation. Couldn't hurt.

Good luck!

I've got more on the way. Some early un-un-tested system notes in the vein of Metal Opera's escalating player-uber-power, Chthonian's skills & descriptor burning, Thord of Reling's biographical keys. All mushed together with a heavy dose of solid scene framing and player-provided complications and concessions to successes and failures (i.e., "Yes, but" and "No, but" with the "but" provided by the player).

Thanks for reading!
