I shouldn't be a grumpy old bastard at my age!

Ooh, I'm feeling like a grumpy old dino at the moment.

I just went through the Fables category over at the Pit of Voles, and once again reported every last story in there that isn't Fables. Idiot teen writer, your piece of doggerel poetry about your dead rabbit is not Fables. It's not even fic. Put it up on Fictionpress, put it on your LJ if you ( Read more... )

Hello, random person! I occasionally use the LJ search to poke my head in and attempt to see if a non-crazy Fables fandom has developed despite pretending it ended at #69 (would be #75, but dammit, they didn't think through the need to replace the infrastructure they were toppling in defeating an entire empire and that would just END VERY BADLY). But in good news, Cindy's getting another miniseries so she can be badass more, and I might be able to admit that one exists.

Anyway. Having also felt like yelling at the Fables section of the Pit I thought you might appreciate a link to the AO3 archive of Fables goodness, mostly the result of Yuletide(which brings quality work to many tiny and unloved fandoms).

Hi! I will agree with your private belief that Fables never made it past the end of the war (I acknowledge up to 75, because I had to see the run out, and it's not really a comic series unless there is some part of it that I would preferably just forget - it's a product of the medium ( ... )

Fair; I gave it a mental ending, but having one on paper is sensible. That's about how far James Jean lasted, and he helped shape everyone's view of Fables being made of awesome.

I'm ignoring Jack's series entirely, except for Babe the Blue Ox who neither has nor needs context. The only highlight of the crossover was Bigby beating up Jack.

The first Cinderella miniseries was made of win, in no small part due to Willingham not being the one to write it.

AO3 is recovering, at least . . . I made the mistake of trying to dive right in at 5AM on Yuletide Day, and the poor server was crying out in pain.
