I realized the other day I actually haven't posted much beyond the occasional Merlin-related squee for a bit. :) Not that folks care much, but in case you do, have a read...( Read more... )
I can't imagine what it must be like to be work in the same business as your spouse. It certainly must increase those little annoyances sometimes. It is good that you are going to have a mediator of sorts.
Yes! I love so many aspects of having our own business, but it is certainly not for everyone to work with their spouse! Frankly I think sometimes the only reason it works is because he's stubborn and I can be a giant, insecure wuss. :( Which is why I totally want this thing to happen, for both our emotional sakes.
There's no way my husband and I could ever work together. You deserve mucho kudos for trying to find ways to make your interaction not become irritating interludes rather than two employees. Imagine that's hard on top of just being around each other all day and the stress of work being the same for both of you. :D
Working with your husband is so tricky. I have so much respect for people who do that. I know I couldn't.
My parents have worked together for over twenty years and they have a fight every. single. day. about work. It's so hard, and you have to have so much patience and self-control. (There was one day, a few weeks ago, when I pretty much thought Mom was going to toss Dad out of the window because she was so cross with him!!)
On the other hand, the fact that they are married and already a team, makes them so much stronger at work. We have the most successful care home in the area, and have been at the top for so many years, because Mum and Dad are one hell of a team. Perseverence is the key, I suppose!
Good luck with everything, especially your meetings. *hugs*
Yes, we have a strong business that relies on referrals and word-of-mouth. Folks like dealing with us because we're a family business and they aren't inviting some big company into their home with some random tech. But it is hard not to throw him out a window!! :D
clever way of keeping the family business a family business without either of you being the full time boss, kudos to you.
Good news to hear Ana is doing well socially and behaviourally away from home, that's always a relief. You're going to despair about your children and school regardless, is par for the parental unit.
