They cut it?? But why? I thought the show was alreedy tailored to the overseas market length-wise so they WOULDN'T need to cut when they added ad breaks?

How much shorter are they making the episodes??!

The sad part about it is, I was gratefully watching it up to this point *because* I hadn't noticed them cutting anything! I was afraid of that but I hadn't seen it thus far. Which makes this just that much more revolting, given it was the series finale!

I know. I'm still in shock this morning, frankly. I mean, they didn't just edit part of it, at least but the show cut from Arthur gathering the Knights in the council chamber to them riding out. NOTHING IN BETWEEN.
It's just - IDEK. I have no words for their, from a fan perspective - EPIC FAIL.

Are you serious?!

Why the heck would they take that line out?

Grrr.... sorry we didn't watch the finale on SyFy (looked at more houses) but that's really ridiculous! I'm sorry darling. What a let-down.

Oh, they didn't cut the line. They cut the WHOLE SCENE. No, 'no man is worth your tears - you're certainly not!', no respect-look from Arthur when he realizes Merlin is coming with, etc. Nothing. It's like they just expect by now Merlin will tag-along so the fact he's there w/ Arthur is a given and there's no need for actual CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. *whimper* Not much upsets me with shows, honestly. But this just feels like a cheap excuse to get more ad time and when it's done at the expense of the characters I fucking watch the show for - I can't abide that.

I was yelling at my screen when I realized they'd done that. They must have wanted more ad time. :(

Yeah, and see my reply above in-thread. Don't take your ad-time at the expense of the fucking characters! Maybe it wasn't essentially to the overall plot, but damn. Some of us care more about the actual characters than fighting the slash dragon. :D
Then again, this is SyFy - home of the god-awful original movies. Leave it to them to want to reduce a show like this to match.

I can't believe that! That's maddening. I guess they decided it wasn't essential to the plot. No Arthur/Merlin shippers at Syfy, clearly. I'm really glad I've already seen it and have the DVDs. I started to watch during 2.12 but I couldn't take the commercials. Plus I just recently watched The Last Dragonlord and really didn't need to see it again so soon.
