Summary: "I found it hard to believe that he was mine, out of everybody he could have picked, he chose me, and for that I would always be thankful."

Myself and Gerard were sat on the sand in the middle of the beach, watching the waves thrash against the rocks. We had a thick blanket draped over our shoulders, protecting us from the bitterly cold October breeze. I grabbed a cigarette from the box in my pocket. I lit it up and inhaled, closing my eyes and feeling my muscles relax. The glow from the other end of the stick matched the sunset that I could see before me.

Gerard was seated between my legs, his back was rested against my chest and his head against my shoulder. I reached my arm out, offering him the cigarette which he gladly took from my hand, immediately bringing it up to his mouth and taking in a deep breath. I watched him intently as he parted his lips and slowly blew out the smoke, releasing it into the air around us. I watched him for a while, taking in every detail; every freckle, every hair, every scar, every breath, every twitch; there was nothing about him that I didn't love, he was perfect. It amazed me how beautiful he was, his flaws only made him all the more beautiful. I found it hard to believe that he was mine, out of everybody he could have picked, he chose me, and for that I would always be thankful.

"What are you staring at?" Gerard giggled and turned his head around so that he was facing me. He threw the half burnt out cigarette onto the sand and used his foot to stomp it out.

"You." I replied truthfully, looking straight into his deep brown eyes. In my opinion his eyes were his best feature. I could always tell what he was feeling just by looking into his eyes. In the sunlight they were a bright, vibrant hazel colour, however, at other times they would appear a very musky brown, almost black. When he looked into your eyes it was as if he was staring deep inside your soul.

"You're so beautiful, Gerard." I said, leaning down and resting my forehead against his and softly rubbing our noses together.

"Shut up." He murmured, a grin plastered on his face, never faltering. His cheeks were flushed red and he couldn't look me straight into the eyes without giggling.

"I love you Gerard, so much." I whispered into his ear, placing a kiss on his temple.

"I love you too, Frankie, more than you will ever know." He whispered back, turning around and placing a kiss on my chest.

He pushed his body further back into my chest and I smiled to myself, wrapping my arms around him in a protective manor as we watched the sun go down, enjoying the peace and quiet.

I was abruptly awoken by the sound of excited squeals and children running around and playing. I shifted my body, trying to get myself into a more comfortable position when I felt a body laying next to mine. I reached down, trying to grab my duvet cover and scrunched my face up in confusion when I couldn't feel it. Ever so slowly I opened my eyes. The first thing that I saw was a peacefully sleeping Gerard; his hair had fallen down into his face and there was a little trail of drool coming from his mouth. I reached my hand up, rubbing the sleep away from my eyes, letting out a yawn, and then closing them again. Feeling a cold breeze brush across my body, I shot up in what I had assumed to be my bed, feeling myself starting to get confused as I took in my surroundings.

We were still at the beach.

"Damn it." I muttered, lifting my hips up off of the ground and reaching into my back pocket, pulling out my phone. I switched my phone on, looking at the time.

8:01am

I stretched myself out before reaching over and shaking Gerard awake by his shoulders. It took a few minutes for him to wake, but when he did he jumped up with a shocked expression on his face. I could see his whole body relax when he saw me sitting next to him.

"What do you want?" He groaned grumpily.

"You need to wake up, baby. We accidentally fell asleep at the beach." I giggled and ran my hand through his knotted hair. He let out a sigh of content and rested his head against my arm, placing a gentle kiss on my forearm.

"I love you, Frankie."

"I love you too, Gerard."
