Sorry, I haven't been paying attention to hardware either; my current computer is a Mac, which means a small option space (but it had what I needed).

I had looked at the mac mini, but the general way apple has been of late with the app store has kind of turned me off of them.

I've been looking at building a very small pc, but am unsure if an Atom CPU would be underpowered for my use. In general it would probably be OK as I do a lot of development using gvim or emacs. But I will be doing some video editing so I'm just not sure.

The idea of very small PC with no fan has some appeal though!
