Yes, your web habits are still monitored but I doubt anyone will really look at it unless you go to a bunch of reeeeeallly sketchy sites and reports get generated. It sounds like someone finally just took off the default policy on your internet filter (which as you said monitors silly things while letting through others) and learned how to use it.
