Even more SMD live gear talk

Jan 17, 2008 09:41

...and then I'll shut up about it. Promise.

Here they discuss their drum machines, their attitude towards laptops, track breakdown, and more about the modular and the MS-20. You can tell they love talking about this stuff.

In order:
a) Happy New Year, Threvvy. Hope it's twice as productive as 2007.
b) No, I don't have an SL CD. Can't wait to hear what I haven't heard yet.
c) Hehe, I can't wait to hear that 3pc chicken box that was our jammy. You can email it or send via YouSendIt or SendSpace or whatever, if you like. Glad other discerning listeners approve.
d) HELLZ YEAHZ. Thanks! Have a table ready for my gear.

Did I tell you that Santa brought me an Ineko? :D
I AM SOUNDGRINDER.
And a Thingamagoop, which is the cutest and noisiest thing on the planet. My theremin total is now FIVE.

Thanks for these videos. I got excited because I thought I had seen that they're coming to Atlanta. Turns out they are... to play a DJ set. BAH! It's like having a famous gourmet chef prepare you a meal from his favorite store-bought TV dinners.

No need to shut up about these things, these videos are pretty neat. Hardware is still unnecessarily intimidating to me but this still gives me ideas.

Also, TARDIS setup in the round is another masterstroke.

That is smart, especially for a two-man team. Most others (Chemical Brothers, Crystal Method, Justice) appear to use a zone defense, with each person manning their particular station and not touching the other guy's knobs/mouse.

I'm just happy there were multiple Doctor Who references. I like these guys even more now.
