Actually, since the narrator is kind of Ianto, disguised, that is a really interesting response. Is Ianto, in fact, capable of giving himself a happy ending? Does he feel he deserves it, and if not, will he ever? Or is it more that he feels he cannot find this happy ending, it eludes him, though he does deserve it as much, perhaps even more, than the next bloke?
