Avatar: The Last Airbender

I've passed along the joy that is Avatar to some friends, and we were discussing the nations and what they represent. I don't remember it being said anywhere specifically, perhaps on the bonus disk? Anyway, Bianca, what's your thought? And do you know for sure from somewhere?

Water = Eskimo *edit* = Inuit
Air = Tibet
Earth = China
Fire = Japan

Essentially correct, as far as I know, though I've never seen anything concrete from the creators on the DVDs or anything. Though I'd say the Water Tribe is actually based on the Inuit, not Eskimo. Eskimo is sort of like the term Indian, not accurate and potentially insulting. But other than that etymological nit pick, I'd say you're correct. :)

Thanks:) And I love your Katara avatars all the time, especially appropriate here:)
I think I'll watch the behind the scenes or something, see if they address it. Or perhaps research online? :)
