What do I think?

I think we'll never get a newer transfer of the original camera negative framing of this wonderful film.

if the laserdisc quality is inferior, why do you hang onto it?

It really isn't inferior. Don't go by these screen shots to compare picture quality. Like how I explained in this post are just to show how the LD framing shows more picture than the others (there is more picture on the top and bottom of the frame than the two DVDs.) And that's why I keep it because it's a presentation of the film that the DVDs don't have.

When capturing analog video to a computer it's not going to look exactly how it would look on a TV. It's much easier to capture screenshots of a DVD thanks to almost every DVD playing program having a screen capture function.
