I made a key lime pie, dirty rice, fresh corn, and roasted green beans with bacon and onions for our family get together. I'm about to go take to the in-laws right now.

That sounds really good~ Yuum~ I was supposed to be at my sister's in-laws for the BBQ but I'm still at home waiting on my friend since she's not home yet, we're going together. They're going to have a big fireworks (big for the neighborhood) even though we have a ban on it because of drought. :D Let's hope we don't get into trouble and get a ticket. :P

Boo to not getting to set off fireworks. We didn't get to, either, with the burn ban on. We used to watch an airshow and fireworks that the little airport across the street from us used to do, but they stopped due to the cost and the near constant burn bans. I'm sad about the fireworks, but I also don't want to start a huge fire, so I understand about the ban. Our get-together was great. Everyone liked what I made, and the pie came out especially yummy. It was worth it to juice all those tiny limes by hand, since bottled lime juice just isn't the same as fresh. My father-in-law set up his telescope and we looked at Saturn and the moon. My mother-in-law got a new kitten, so I got to hold and pet him. It was a great night. I hope you still got to have some fun. If not, maybe we can send some dog poo presents to your mean neighbor's mailbox. >:)

Well, let's just hope next year will be better.

My sis said that we might go to Johnson County and set off the fireworks tonight. :D I'm not sure if we will go there tonight or not so we'll see~ ^^

Happy Independence day and thank you for the updates. I don't know about anyone else, but does anyone's area practice shooting fireworks a few days before July 4th? I noticed that there were more fireworks being shot 2 days before Independence day than the actual day of July 4th which seemed kinda funny to me. It was still nice to enjoy a holiday with my family but my sister has a puppy that is afraid of the fireworks while my cat doesn't mind the fireworks,so the small amount of fireworks actually worked in my sister's favor.

Happy Fourth!! ^^ I noticed that too, I guess since it's cause of the drought ban in my area that they're doing early since the police aren't really out looking for rules breaker until today.

I went to my friend's friend's house pool party, and then went to my house and had a little fun with the sparklers since we have a bitchy neighbor preaching about the ban~ GRRR....

we skipped the fireworks and went for the bbqs due to my eldest being afraid of banging noises. happy 4th!! we're lucky we have good weather the entire 3 day weekend!!

Urgh, talking about fireworks pissed me off cause we went to this place where it was having fireworks and when we got there it finished. =_= There were a tons of ppl there and no parking space to be found so get out was a hassle~ >.>

I asked my bro if we have some fireworks at home and he said that we could not lit it because of our neighbor across us was bitching to us about the drought ban. URGH!!!!!!!!! I swear, I think she's out to get us cause we hear a lot of fireworks going on in our neighborhood even our neighbor to our left was letting their kids having fun with it. >:(

It's even more annoying when you hear fireworks going off in the neighborhood and I can't have fun with my fireworks. My bro and I we just wanted to have fun with a small fireworks and not even the big one and we can't even do it.

It's vexing that there are people which can't refrain to spoil them and give you a sad memory last forever for this day!!
