Yesterday was my lifemate's birthday. (Happy Birthday, Meemer, again.) We had cake and a birthday dinner and then sat around idly chattering. I remember your telling me this story during our first year of marriage (yes, people in LJ-land, a marriage is what we've got even if most of the states of our fair Union refuse to recognize it as such). It really struck a chord with me then, and still does now.
