So. Another weekend passed. Feels like those days go far too quickly, ugh. But at least I've gotten over my cold.

Reading Terry Pratchett's Strata, and enjoying it thoroughly. Had a little trouble following it at first, and I'm not sure if it's because I don't usually read science fiction, or if it's because of something to do with the novel ( Read more... )

Did you ever read Hitchhiker's? I'm not much for scifi but I consider Adams to be kind of a Pratchett predecessor... I think the only other thing I've read that comes close to scifi would be Lovecraft stories, most of which are handily online =3=

Ah - yes, I've read Hitchhikers, though it was a long time ago. At the time, I was kind of lukewarm about it, but I think that's because everyone in my social circle hyped it up as the most Awesome Thing Ever -- so when I finally read it I was like, "That's all?", pff. Though it might be due for a re-read. I'd probably appreciate it more now.

ngl, I felt that way as well, it was underwhelming, but it grew on me. I still haven't gotten around to the rest of the series, though.
