Livejournal. What the fuck are you doing.

... I am not impressed, here.

I'd been planning to make a proper entry today, but uh, that can wait.

Oh, and I changed the journal layout so that I'd actually be able to read comments. And entries. And whatnot. Not pleased with it, but it'll do for now.

lifejournal, wtf, rage

Good lord, tell me about it. It looks like a roleplaying forum circa 2003.

It looks worse than that, I would say. xD
It's just awful. But from what I've been seeing - translated comments etc - it doesn't look like they have any intention of actually listening to their users with regards to this matter.

Ah, but when has LJ ever listened to their users?

The only thing I like is that now it's easy to view all sub-threads, no need to open new tans or anything. Other than that... nnnnnot sure if want. :(

Very much not sure if want. Subject lines and readability aside... I hate the icon browser, oh my gods.

But more than anything else, what's really got me irritated is that the Powers That Be seem to be entirely dismissive of the response they have been getting. "Oh, they'll get used to it" :| Hmmm.

What happened? katierox342 December 21 2011, 20:51:06 UTC
Dare I ask what I missed, or is it something only those who actually post more frequently than twice a year will see?

Feel better at any rate! Knit something to take your mind off it *subtly hides failed/slow knitting project under pillow* >3>

PS. Love the icon at any rate ^^

It's something that pretty much anyone who uses communities/fic-memes/etc will see.

Basically, they rolled out a site redesign for default comment pages. Okay, fine. Except that for the default (I.E. the previously most-readable format, which most communities/memes as well as personal journals used), some basic functionality was removed, like subject headings, parent-comment links, preview function, simple icon-select, etc. They replaced it with a bloated, nonfunctional design. Yick ( ... )

I know, right? That Igrick guy sure is being a real ass about the whole thing, too.

Dreamwidth is suddenly looking very appealing.

Man, that Igrick guy sounds like SUCH A DOUCHE. What the hell. In so many of the (translated) comments I've read from him, he comes off as so rude, ugh.

I won't lie. I'm in the process of importing my journal over to DW. With over 4000 entries, it'll take a while. But. Yeah. Though I doubt I'll actually use it. I'm far too attached to LJ. But I kind've did it in a fit of rage.

Well, we'll see what happens. :|

I think that's what pisses me off the most. The new design itself hasn't been giving me a huge amount of trouble, as inconvenient as it is, but that attitude.

And yeah, I did the same, but I'll see where this goes before I make any major decisions about moving. It'd be kind of silly to leave when all my friends, communities and the meme are still over here.

I'm hoping what will result is something kind've like what happened with Delicious: A lot of the functionality has been restored, so now it mostly works the way it used to, at least in terms of functionality.

Unlikely to happen, but I can hope.

Igrick is a douchenozzle, news at eleven. I wouldn't mind a redesign if it didn't remove basic functionality or take ages to load for people with slower internet connection and/or limited bandwidth. :/ I hope LJ will fix these things; I'm not holding my breath for a rollback but I hope they'll make it functional and reasonably fast to load.

I've made backup journals on DW just in case but switching over completely would be kind of a pain. On the other hand, the folks running DW actually seem to care about their userbase so it'd be nice if they got people who pay for their accounts.

I know, eh? Goddamnit.

I will not lie, I began importing my journal to DW yesterday (I'd already had an account for commenting purposes, but never did anything beyond that). But the memes I like are here, and the kink meme, and blah blah blah I don't want to move. [/stubborn] I wish they'd just... fix things.

u3u Sigh....

Yeah, there's always that. I subscribe to four kink memes, I roleplay and check anon memes frequently and those keep me here. A mass fandom exodus would be trying to move a mountain, but if enough people move small stones, then maybe...
