Oohhhhhhhhhhh I've got shivers from this katierox342 October 24 2011, 20:02:53 UTC
Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.

I was just looking for something even remotely relevant to history in the fanfiction, and here it was all along! I'm quite a fan of the Nordics and you got all the characterizations I love here. I love how from inside Norway's mind we can see all his thoughts, but read how few he actually says, I enjoy without reason the brotherly love/dependence there is between Iceland and Norway, and I also enjoy how for once, the relationship between Denmark and Norway isn't all rainbows and butterflies. Here it's force of wills, blood spit and (am I analysing this too much?) desire.

It made me feel so sad for little Iceland, because around those times he was probably left at home a lot by these guys :C

I'd love to read any other fanfiction you might have in the future ^^ Especially with the canon speech pattern you gave Norway. Everyone portrays him as speaking very eloquently, but really he mutters his words almost as bad as Sweden, doesn't he? ^^

I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Denmark and Norway are so complicated in their relationship, and it's such a challenge to try to portray that. I'm glad you think it worked here.
(As for Iceland, my understanding is that for quite a while his history could be summed up as "It got worse". Poor kid.)

I've written other things, though nothing recently - I've indexed them here if you're interested.

Also, if you're looking for stories where Norway has that speech pattern, I can link you to some by people other than myself if you want - I wish more people wrote him speaking that way!

Thank you so much for sharing! I do very much like history fic--and this was such a tough time for Norway, being the inferior partner in their Union, and having little option but to follow Denmark's lead (even to his detriment).

It always blows my mind just *how* many times Sweden and Denmark went to war with another. Worse than England and France, those two! :)

Thanks for such a nice fic for my afternoon!

And thank you for your lovely comment! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)a

(Man, the history with Denmark and Sweden... "And then they went to war against each other. And then they went to war against each other again. And then - you guessed it - they went to war with each other again, and didn't even accomplish anything by it". Oh, la.)

And Norway and Finland stood there going, "Seriously, could you not? Just this once, could we all just hang out and not fight over the same piece of land for the 1,000th time?" (Though I suppose I do understand why they fought so much for control over the Baltic. Money and power, who doesn't want that?) :D
