Today went pretty well, even though I didn't get a whole lot done. I went down to physio, and the end result is this: The condition of my wrist is not getting worse, which is good. Unfortunately, any improvement that is going on is going slowly. That sort of thing is expected with nerves; they heal slowly. But it's still very frustrating. I'm going ( Read more... )

In case you need sympathy: I totally get the frustrations of broken things and consistent physio! And also remain totally sold on physio. And am still doing my physio stuff - on both legs, now.

In completely unrelated news, have you got some sort of a feel for the undergraduate English program at U of S? My cousin is considering going there for her BA. It's between U of A and U of S, and she was thinking of doing English or history or some sort of social sciences.

Part of the reason I find it so frustrating is I didn't even hurt myself by doing something cool. I hurt myself while doing schoolwork, what the heck is up with that. It's embarrassing! Sob.

Hmmmm the UofS undergrad program, eh? Well, I don't know much about history etc, but for English, from what I've seen, it's pretty much the same deal everywhere, at least for intro. I'm not sure how it compares to the UofA, but I expect class sizes might be slightly smaller here. I do know our profs are really good (but then again, I suspect the ones at UofA are as well). One advantage we do have is that UofS is a smaller university, thus has a small English department (still huge compared to Acadia though, wow) so it might be easier to get individual attention / actually get to know your profs than it would be at a huge place like U of A.

Other than that, I'm not sure what to tell ya', man.

I've taken English undergrad at U of S. I would say that it's fairly easy. I know this because as soon as I got to Master's level at the same university everyone was freaking HARDCORE. So since I was at the top of the heap in undergrad, but at the bottom in my master's, the U of S is probably a cakewalk. And I found it a delicious one, at that. I generally liked the profs and learned a lot. Also, if you go for your BA honors and have a mid-eighties mark, you're pretty much guaranteed to win the Hannon Scholarship in third and fourth year, which is a combined $6000, much more than any of my friends in many other departments made.

All in all, the Eng dept at U of S treated me well! :)

Hi!

I have watched Saiyuki, Weiss Kreuz, Trigun, and Utena too. lol, wow that's a lot. But I haven't read the manga. Trigun is sad (well the overall story is very spunky and fun and cowboy Western but it has a sad part at the end.) Utena is freaky but in a good way. Saiyuki is fun and very long, and has a bunch of fillers (like you said.) Weiss Kreuz, the animation sucks but I loved the seiyuu heh.

Most of these series, I've only seen parts, and only read parts of the manga... so I really want to see/read them, because they were important to me when I was in high school. They were my favourites, but I didn't have access to much anime at the time - it wasn't available in my part of the province (I lived in a remote area) and my computer couldn't handle downloading.

Even though the animation for Weiss Kreuz sucked really badly, and the plot was ridiculous, I still have such a soft spot for it. It's just so deliciously bad. But originally, I was interested in it because of the seiyuu, and because of the music.

Yeah, I didn't have internet access on my home computer for a good chunk of my high school years, but I got to watch these anime later on when I went to college and bittorrent came out. Except WK, I bought one tape of VHS, watched it, then promptly returned it to the store cuz I though the animation was so poor it wasn't worth my $25 ORZ.
