When it’s tomorrow, we agree not to meet again

Sitting in the shop at the end of the road, I ordered a cup of missing (you)

Stirring in his sleep, he woke up when the sunlight hit his eyes. Sighing, he turned to his right to see no one beside him. Staring at the empty space beside him, he smiled-a hurtful one. And even before his tears can escape from his eyes, he closed it and faced front. It was just yesterday when he decided to let go. He stood up lazily to take a shower before going to work.

Breakfast… he sighed. No one is going to cook for him anymore. Maybe he’ll just eat breakfast outside. Stepping out of his apartment, he went down and went directly to the coffee shop at the end of the road. He ordered some toasts and coffee. Taking the orders, he went to a specific seat around the corner of the coffee shop and but down the tray on the table. Same spot, same order. He really can’t let go.

When it’s tomorrow, we can only let love pass by

Before daybreak, two persons’ smiling faces become a yellowed photograph

He woke up late again. He’s too used that someone’s waking him up every morning. It’s either the soft words spoken, light kisses given or the smell of the food being cooked. He groaned, sitting up while ruffling his hair. Second day of his loneliness.

He went to the coffee shop at the end of the road for his breakfast. Well, only bread and coffee. He went to the counter and ordered the same as yesterday. After all, it’s the food and drink both of them are ordering whenever they go there before. He lazily proceeded to his usual seat only to see it occupied already. He stopped on his tracks when familiarization struck him.

“Ya-“ He started but was cut off when the latter turned to him. They exchange glances. Longing is visible on his eyes while there’s nothing on the latter. “Yama-“ even before he can continue calling him, the latter averted his eyes and concentrated on the people passing by the shop.

Is it really over? His smile faded as he ignored him. He turned around and walked at the opposite direction to search for another vacant seat. He walked away, hoping he’ll call him but nothing came.

Around me (loneliness is spreading)

Vision (is being blurred by tears)

I left “I love you” at the bottom of my heart and put them on the tip of my lips

Curled up in a ball in the corner of his room, his tears continued to flow. It’s not supposed to be like this. Loneliness is surrounding him which makes it worse. Before when he became like this, he’ll always be there to comfort him. He loves him. He loves him too much.

When it’s tomorrow, you will leave my side

When it’s tomorrow, I will wish upon a shooting star alone

Just like the ending of a movie

Our ending fulfilled the prediction of tears

He asked for a month of leave in his work and thankfully, his boss approved it. He needs to think about everything. If he can move on or not? The answer is pretty obvious but he needs to. He’s not already here beside him, he should practice himself living alone for the whole month. He’s too used with his presence.

Lying at the grassy land near a river, he looked up at the night sky and saw how the stars shining brightly. He held up his hand as if he tries to hold one.

“Yuto-kun,” the shorter guy called as they’re lying in the grassy land near the river, his head on Yuto’s arms.

“Hmmm?” The latter replied.

“In this night sky, you’re my moon because I’m the stars.” He said, cuddling closer at the taller one.

“And why is it, Yama-chan?” He asked.

“Because whenever the moon disappears, the stars will be lonely.”

“But there are lots of stars, Yama-chan. You won’t be lonely.” The taller one tilted his head asking for more explanations.

“All the stars are me, Yuto-kun. Every star you see is me. So I’ll be lonely if you’re not with me.”

But now, Yuto thinks he’s the star and Yamada is the moon. Because now… he’s really lonely without him.

Broken promises all over the ground, the yesterday that cannot be pieced together again

But I still look forward to the appearance of a miracle, oh no

Your shadow is drifting further and further away.

“Yuto-kun…” he called, snuggling closer to the younger one as both of them lying in the bed, naked bodies covered by blanket. The latter didn’t reply but rather stroked his lover’s hair lovingly. “Let’s make a promise!”

Yuto moved back a little to look at his lover’s eyes, one of his brows rising though his hands are still on the latter’s hair. “Promise?” he asked.

“Un! Promise!” Yamada wrapped his arms around the younger’s waist, pressing his body on the latter. “Let’s promise that both of us will be together, forever.”

Yuto smiled on his boyfriend’s statement and his hands moved to the latter’s back pressing him closer to him even though there’s no space in between them already. “Un, I promise.”

“Together, Forever… It won’t happen now.” Yuto mumbled. “Promises are really made to be broken, huh?”

A lone tear fell from his eyes before he wiped it. “Ah, why am I crying again?” he asked himself though secretly, he’s hoping… hoping that he’ll be back to him.

Love is still lingering in my room

Before the memory becomes real, in a moment

It felt like you were in front of my eyes

“Yuto-kun…” someone called him. “Yuto-kun, wake up!”

Yuto slowly opened his eyes, blinking it. “You’ll be late for work!” He’s being scolded by an overly familiar voice and once he fully woke up, his eyes widen. “Yama-chan?!” He shouted while sitting up only to realize he’s alone.

Ruffling his hair, he said, “These hallucinations are coming more often.”

Around me loneliness is spreading)

This vision (is being blurred by tears)

A sentence “I love you”, I left it deep in the bottom of my heart and put it on the tip of my lips

“Yuto-kun, I love you.” Yamada said as he wrapped his arms on the taller boy’s neck who is reading in his study table.

He ruffled the latter’s hair and asked, “Why so sudden, Yama-chan?”

“Nothing…” Yamada replied. “I just want to say it.”

Yuto walked and walked, he himself doesn’t know where his feet going to drag him to. Memories keep on flooding while he walked. Everything that he sees has a memory with both of them. A happy one.

When it’s tomorrow, you will leave my side

When it’s tomorrow, I will wish upon a shooting star alone

Just like the ending of a movie

Our ending fulfilled the prediction of tears

“Yuto-kun~” A gentle voice woke him up from his sleep.

“Yama-chan?” He replied in a groggy voice. Sitting up, he asked, “What are you doing here early in the morning?” His eyes wandered around and saw some baggage and his eyes widened.

“Are you sure about this?” He asked Yamada and the latter nodded.

“Un! Starting today, I’m going to live with you.”

It’s been 2 weeks already but everything is still the same. Nothing changes. He keeps on locking himself to his room, looking at the photos in his photo album, reminiscing every moment both of them had together. He thinks he’s an idiot for waiting for him even though it’s clear that he won’t come back. But, there’s no harm in trying, right?

Broken promises all over the ground, the yesterday that cannot be pieced together again

But I still look forward to the appearance of a miracle, oh no

Your shadow is drifting further and further away.

“Yuto-kun,” he called. “Kore!” he gave a small box to Yuto and the latter took it wondering what’s inside. “Open it, hurry!”

Yuto just chuckled on how Yamada is getting excited just for him to open a box but he was stunned to see what’s inside. “This…” he murmured taking out a metal ring inside.

Yamada took it and place it on Yuto’s ring finger. “This means, Yuto-kun and I are bound to be together!” Yamada said excitedly. “Happy birthday, Yuto-kun.”

The ring… Yuto still have it and he never took it off. He won’t and will never. He took the box under his bed and opened it. Everything that Yamada gave him is kept under there. Even the little flower they found, the bug in the bottle which Yamada caught especially for him but unluckily died.

Am I an idiot? He thinks.

Without you, love starts to hibernate

Loneliness will occupy every day

Standing in the corner of the room, Yuto looked around. Maybe it’s time to change. Maybe it’s time to move on. Maybe it’s time to realize that he won’t come back to him anymore.

He took all photo frames hanging on the wall bought by Yamada, the stuff toys he bought for the latter, the clothes given to him, and lastly, the ring on his hand. He took it off and placed on the small box before placing everything in a big box.

This is one of the ways to forget about him.

I stand under the streetlight, on the side of the cold street

That place where we once embraced

Is the roof under which we once seek shelter from the rain together, oh

“Ichi, ni…” Yuto looked at Yamada and the latter grinned at him.

“San!” Yamada shouted before both of them ran under the rain, both are holding each other’s hands. But suddenly, Yuto let go and ran faster.

“Catch me, Yama-chan!” He shouted and the older guy pouted.

“Yuto-kun, you run faster than me, how can I catch you?” He complained but ran instead.

“Ahhhhhh!” he shouted then a loud thump was heard making Yuto stop on his tracks and looked back.

“Yama-chan!” Yuto ran towards Yamada who fell forward. “Are you alright?” Yuto asked helping Yamada to stand up.

“I think I am. No bruises, so I guess I’m okay.”

“Yokatta.” Yuto sighed in relief. “Next time, be careful okay?” Yuto pecked on Yamada’s forehead.

“By the way…” Yamada started, then he suddenly hugged Yuto making the latter flinch. “Caught you, Yuto-kun.”

It’s raining and Yuto walked under the rain. He doesn’t care looking for any shelter to keep him dry. He doesn’t care to get sick. But then, he stopped on his tracks. His eyes are directly looking at a certain guy under an umbrella, walking towards him.

Maybe the latter noticed someone is looking at him so he looked up and saw Yuto. But he ignored him and continued on walking. Before he can pass by at Yuto, the latter grabbed his hands preventing him to continue on walking.

“Yama-chan,” He called but got no response. “Why?” He asked but nothing came.

When silence came to them, Yuto slowly released his hands. No one knows if he’s crying or not since the rain is hiding it from everyone. He started to walk and never dared to look back.

When it’s tomorrow, you will leave my side

When it’s tomorrow, I will wish upon a shooting star alone

Just like the ending of a movie

Our ending fulfilled the prediction of tears

“Yama-chan?” Yuto asked as soon as he went home finding Yamada packing his things. “What are you doing?” But then he didn’t reply.

“Yama-chan!” He shouted grabbing the latter’s arms to stop him from what he’s doing.

“Obviously, I’m packing my things.” There goes the sarcastic answer before Yamada forcefully took his hands off from Yuto.

“Why?” Yuto stopped himself from crying but he won’t be able to stop it any longer.

“I’m breaking up with you.” The casual answer.

Yuto rolled on his bed lazily before drinking some medicine. He got a fever for 3 days already. A porridge is already on his table and a note saying, “Don’t do something reckless next time. - Keito”.

Keito, his friend who’s like a brother to him already visited him 2 days ago and found the latter very sick so for the whole day, he took care of him. He actually didn’t know what happened between Yamada and Yuto since the latter didn’t tell him anything.

Remembering what happened 3 days ago, makes his heart aches. How he wished he didn’t saw him that time. Maybe he already had let go.

Broken promises all over the ground, the yesterday that cannot be pieced together again

But I keep looking forward to the appearance of a miracle, oh no

“I don’t love you anymore, Yuto.” Yamada said trying to get his body off from Yuto’s embrace.

“No, Yama-chan, I know it, you still love me. I know Yama-chan.” Yuto cried hard after hearing Yamada calling him only “Yuto”. He tightened his hug not wanting the older one to go.

“You’re not me, so you don’t know!” Yamada shouted, an angry one making Yuto release him. “I don’t… feel anything for you now.” Yamada said. He reached out to wipe Yuto’s tears and kiss his lips gently for the last time before saying his goodbye.

“I’m sorry Yuto.”

Yuto doesn’t really know the reason why Yamada broke up with him. It was just yesterday when both of them are laughing happily then the next day, everything is gone. There are no abnormalities that can lead both of them to break up.

He wants to know what’s true.

I still reminisce the past when we were in love

I’m still waiting for you to come back to my side

Tears are falling on the side of my cold pillow

He passed by a park and without realizing, his feet dragged him towards the fountain. His hands trailed the circular bowl of the fountain where water stays. He can still remember how red Yamada’s face is when he asked him to be his boyfriend in that place without bothering the other people in the park.

“Yamada Ryosuke, will you be my boyfriend?” Yuto asked kneeling on the ground while Yamada is stunned. Yuto said there’s a surprise waiting for him but he didn’t it’ll be this.

Many people are there that time and Yamada’s face is as red as a ripe tomato. Instead of answering Yuto, he glomped on the younger making both of them fell in the ground.

Even though that happened, the other people cheered for them ‘cause knowing what happened, they know Yamada agreed.

Suddenly, Yuto’s knees weakened and he kneeled on the ground, crying. He now wonders how many liters of tears have he shed only for one person?

I hit pause on time until you appear again

I cannot stand each of the days without you, oh no

Rolling on his bed lazily, it’s the last day of Yuto’s leave for work. Tomorrow he’s going to work again and start a new day. But, the feeling is still there. It haven’t changed yet. His friends told him that he’s a super idiot because he’s still hoping for Yamada to be back. But, he doesn’t know why his heart and mind holds on to Yamada.

He misses his warmth, he misses his gazes, he misses his voice, he misses his kisses. He misses everything.

I love you, it will not change

I’ll be loving you till eternity

Pulling the big box, Yuto opened it and took out everything. He placed everything back where he took them. The stuff toys, the clocks, photo frames, everything. Even the ring. He put the ring on his finger and said, “I’ll love you forever, Yamada Ryosuke.”
