Well men ARE more visually stimulated. Men of character look beyond the surface however and isn't that what a woman wants? Just like most men like 'em young...it's that visual trigger the poor dears. They often suffer for it though if its any comfort because often the "pretty" that captures their hearts will stomp all over it before walking out. Most learn.
As for the study...the less work put into it the more likely it is to be done. We are a lazy species at best. I love to research, many do not. Kathleen
First off - I worked at CNN for 15 years - so please believe me when I say that they would seriously publish this crap as if it were news.
My reply - duh! As for the college prof who thinks he's discovered something - typical man to glom on to the obvious and give himself a pat on the back. He has a future in television production....
I would totally go for a genetically engineered male who could be taught to think.
...the women didn't 'overshoot their own attractiveness'? The men picked women who were above a certain minimum attractiveness? I missed something here. Who, exactly, is judging who's in what hotness bracket? Did they put up a sign in the Union saying "Ugly Bitches Needed For Psychological Experiment" or something?
But...but...they tested like forty people. In freaking Munich. And all they did was speed date. I mean, is that a vaild study? The headline should say 'twenty men in munich think hot women are better after speed dating'.
But then again, I'm not a scientist.
