Easily one of, if not just plain THE, best post-series KnM fics I've seen. Despite it being canon, the pairing is surprisingly difficult to write accurately--mainly, I think, because it's incredibly hard to get a good, in-character written representation of Himeko (and Chikane's not easy to do, either). You've done so very well here, though. And nice job on the lemon part, too--the continued dialogue is a very good mix of romantic and sexual passion that really dresses up what's happening to seem fresh and exciting.

My only real criticism here would be that Himeko STILL just seems off to me--less so than any other fic I've read concerning her, though.

Yeah, I don't think I got Himeko quite note-perfect. Part of that is that I was aiming at the end-of-series Himeko as far as characterization goes -- the one who gently refutes all of Chikane's attempts to deny their love, kisses her unselfconsciously, and wants to share their love with the world -- and there's just not a whole lot of that side of her to work with. And part of it is just that my writing's far from perfect, naturally -- but this was good practice, too.

I've actually had ideas for a longer story/series of stories based around the same sort of setup I used here -- less explicit, but with the same background of 'they meet again, but while the emotions are strong the memories are hazy.' May complete it one day -- at least, I hope so.

Thank you SO much. I loved this - exactly what I had in mind when I made the request. It was incredibly sweet, and the sex was hot in a very romantic way. I liked the exchange of dialogue. Extra kudos for making their relationship about equality, and not Dom of Doom Chikane and Super Sub Himeko. Wonderfully done.

Heh. I honestly can't see Chikane as a dom, generally -- she's far too insecure. And the Himeko who took control and gently insisted she loved Chikane, never taking Chikane's demurrals for an answer -- definitely not a sub in general terms. (I can see them getting into certain bedroom roles along those lines, if they so chose, but not as a given.) One of the fascinating things about Kannazuki is just how much each of the girls is, at heart, almost the opposite of her public image...

Great fic! I really like how you portrayed both of the characters, especially Chikane.

There's a surprisingly lack of KnF fanworks out there, so I'm always happy to see them. Hope you write more some time. :)

OH GOD~
This fic is so amazing. It's the perfect example of what a fic should be, really. It explores the characters thoroughly - I love your assertive Himeko so much! She's completely in-character, but she's grown up. And I love how she feels close enough to Chikane to dare to guide her. Awww. The fic also is absolutely adorable on its romantic side, sexy without being obscene on its smutty side, and the plot of 'My Bremen Love' was just right, too.
I also loved the fact that the romance and the smut were so wonderfully integrated - it didn't feel like you followed the obligatory "first conflict, then talking it out, then sex" progression. It flowed very naturally - except perhaps for Himeko's description of 'My Bremen Love,' which felt a little too lengthy to me. But after that it was awesome. I'm still grinning like an idiot and feeling all happy and mellow from this fic. ^^

Oh, and their fantasies were wonderful, too! °
