507 YUI Stalker Websites Revamp
First of all, an off topic intro. It's been awhile since I posted a real post here in my journal. The past posts have been all one liner/quotes with countdown. Sorry, I'm just excited with something. :D
Anyways, back to the real topic of this post: the changes/revamp of YUI Stalker websites. I just felt that this has a more personal background, so I decided to post those changes in my personal journal first.
Currently, the roster of my YUI Stalker websites are as follows:
1. yuistalker
2. YUI News at Wordpress
3. YUI_News at Twitter
4. adieun at Tumblr
5. Ask YUI Stalker at Formspring
Lately, I have been busy with work/lazy/busy with other stuff other than fandom/other priorities. After weighing my current life status, I have decided the following changes to these sites. Let me discuss for each.
1. yuistalker
This is my very first website entirely dedicated to YUI, starting from last April 2008. Though it really saddened me (I have to prioritize and weigh situations), I have decided:
1. To make the posting unmoderated so that any member can post YUI-related stuff.
2. To find: (1) a new Moderator and/or (2) a new Maintainer
Sorry, I think I cannot fully maintain the community anymore. In the past weeks/months, the community has less updates (with less comments) and there are a lot files/news, etc. that are being neglected/not posted because of my inability to maintain it. I'll post the full details on the Moderator/Maintainer search on the yuistalker website. I will still remain as a Maintainer and will still occasionally post whenever I can. Sorry if I failed you guys. D:
Last note, if I can't find a new Moderator/Maintainer, I might get prompted to totally close the website. T_T
2. YUI News at Wordpress
With 670 posts in total and more than 126,000 visits, this site proved to be a hit to YUI fans. Unfortunately, for the same personal reason, this site will be needing (same with yuistalker) a new Administrator and/or Contributor. I will be posting the full details on the website as well.
This saddens me as well as I really love this blog. It was more updated than my original YUI Stalker website (yuistalker). But, I had to weigh the situation, and currently, I can't continue to fully maintain the website anymore. I need help -- or more of I will just be helping the new Admin (if there will be one).
Same case with yuistalker, if I can't find a new Administrator/Contributor, I might get prompted to totally shut this down..
3. YUI_News at Twitter
Fortunately (or not really), YUI_News at Twitter remains on my arm -- its easy for me to update this site. Expect to still receive news and updates on this micro-blogging site.
And I'm glad to say that we are closing in to having 900 followers already! Thanks for all the support! :D
4. adieun at Tumblr
This site remains on my arm as well, just like YUI_News at Twitter. Tumblr is easy to use and currently is one of my favorite sites. I just need a new layout and more interesting posts in the future -- so expect that.
Currently, the site has 54 followers. It is almost at par with the previous Tumblr site (YUI Stalker at Tumblr.
5. Ask YUI Stalker at Formspring
Sorry guys. I have decided to abolish this website. Though it may look like simple, but barrage of questions are really hard to answer sometimes -- especially those that requires lots of researching and recalling. Apologies for the possible inconvenience caused. D:
Goodbye Ask YUI Stalker! It has been fun.
So, in the end:
1. yuistalker -- Searching for new Maintainer/Moderator
2. YUI News at Wordpress - Searching for new Administrator/Contributor
3. YUI_News at Twitter -- Remains under my maintenance
4. adieun at Tumblr -- Remains under my maintenance
5. Ask YUI Stalker at Formspring -- Disabled
On a general note, I would like to say two things to all of my followers/members:
1. Thank you very much for all the support you guys gave to me, my websites and my efforts on sharing the fandom. It has been a good and happy journey, and though its not a good-bye, you'll feel me less than the usual in the past.
2. Sorry for those who might get disappointed with the set of decisions I made. I just had to organize and pick out what things are my current priorities and what are not. It might sound selfish, it might sound insensitive, but I felt I need to do this.
BUT.. this does not end my post. I might not be doing the usual updates and news on several YUI-related websites of mine, I have also decided that I might do a few YUI feature post here in my blog -- feature post that can range from personal opinions to various information about YUI and others. This is kinda my tribute to my penultimate YUI idol, Teo -- who did a similar one on her defunct blog now. I know I can't match her witty, inspiring and 'educational' posts in her previous blog, but I can always try. So, you might want to look forward to those.
This was a bit lengthy. Sorry for that.
If you have any comments, reactions, etc., please do post it in the comment box. Will really appreciate it. Expect the formal posts in the different YUI Stalker Websites by today or tomorrow.
