Happy Galentine's Day to all my lady friends!
For those sadly uninitiated into the world of Parks and Rec, Galentine's Day is the Leslie Knope-created holiday that celebrates lady friends on February 13. It's the greatest fake holiday next to Treat Yourself Day (AKA Treat Yo Self!).
I may have gone a little overboard with putting together Galentine's gifts what with baking three different types of cookies, but anything for my girls. And I can't take full credit for the cards and Galentine's Day label. They were courtesy of the magical land known as Tumblr. Thank you for whatever awesome person made these graphics.
Our evening consisted of food, wine, chocolate, and Downton Abbey (plus yelling about WTF Moffat was thinking during that last season of Doctor Who). If that isn't a description of a near-perfect night in, I don't know what is. I love my friends.
On a side note, my sister texted today me that Parks and Rec is filming on the UCLA campus, which is but a 5 minute drive from my office. She then proceeded to not send me any details, so in my fangirly flailing, I Googled for info myself. It took a good 15 minutes, but I calmed myself down because I am a sane adult who works in the entertainment industry, damnit, not a teenager who stalks film/TV sets. Also, they're filming indoors, so stalking would require standing outside for hours on the off chance of seeing anyone, and it's cold outside. Laziness has saved my dignity once again.
But back on topic: may your evening be filled with friends, chocolate, wine, and Downton Abbey!
