VMS3ST Challenge
Okay, so here is my entry in the soundtrack competition. I’ve been working on it off and on since it was announced. The write-up on the songs is out of order from the actual mix because they don’t flow story-wise as well as they do musically. And my descriptions are pretty short because I’m not that imaginative, LoL. There’s a link to each individual song and then links to zip files at the end.
Oh, I should probably mention that there would be a Parental Advisory sticker on this. I didn't mean to, I mostly don't even notice curse words in songs when they're not being used viciously, but several of the songs have curse words in them...the F word being the harshest and widely used in the first song. Oh, and g*d***. I never heard back on a language restriction. Sorry.
Song - L.G. Fuad by Motion City Soundtrack
Description - Ep. 3-02 Veronica and Logan are driving in the Xterra along a beach road smiling and happy, on their way to a weekend getaway that will turn bad.
Why I Chose This Song - “I want to thank you for being a part of my forget-me-nots and marigolds” juxtaposed with “Let’s get f***ed up and die” - the lyrics contradict the music and make me think “weird self-hatred mixed with happy driving song.”
I'm a mess, I'm a wreck.

Why I Chose This Song - Kick ass girl song, plus…band name!

Description - Ep. 3-03 Veronica goes to a party looking for Logan and winds up finding more than she bargained for.

Description - Ep. 3-04 Veronica is walking away from Logan after breaking up with him.
Why I Chose This Song - I absolutely love this artist, and all of his songs. I wanted to include one on this soundtrack and it was hard to chose, but I think this song makes the most sense with VM. Don’t ask me why I broke Logan and V up, I’m such a shipper.

Why I Chose This Song - It’s a fun song, especially in the chorus, it’s just a swingy guitar riff that works.

Song - Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner by Fall Out Boy
Description - Ep. 3-08 Logan sees Veronica with new love interest, great opportunity for Logan heartbroken face.
Why I Chose This Song - Earlier S2 Dirty Dancing reference…and I like it.

Song - Lighting the Way by Superdrag
Description - Ep. 3-09 Another “Veronica is on the case” song…I see Veronica gathering info, walking into a room to confront the culprit.
Why I Chose This Song - No real reason. Looking for a rock balance to the mix, and it fits in with the show’s vibe.

Description - Ep. 3-11 Veronica is studying hard late into the night after falling behind due to her mystery solving.
Why I Chose This Song - Tegan and Sara are such a great duo, and they really fit well with the musical style of the show (a la 1st ST) and I think it’s a sleepy song.

Description - Ep. 3-14 Shots of Logan and Veronica being sad and pouty in their rooms, maybe looking at pictures and obviously thinking about each other, until Veronica goes to look out the rainy window and voila! Logan is standing by the pool in the rain looking up at her apartment.
Why I Chose This Song - It’s absolutely beautiful and makes sense for their relationship.
