- A Belated Birthday Fic. I'm supposed to be posting 4 more (on the works) but there is a far more important fic that I have to attend to (despite writer's block DX)
Sakurai Sho tried to remember what lead him to this situation. He was celebrating his friend’s birthday party when Matsumoto Jun and his friends (including Oguri Shun, he noted) celebrated his band mate’s birthday as well in the same place. It turned into a double celebration and twice the booze intake. That part he remembers well.
What he didn’t remember was how the party ended and how he ended up in his apartment with Jun. He somehow wished that he wouldn’t remember playing the piano, forcing Jun into listening and even singing one of Arashi’s songs but is glad that they could just be there, being them - without the cameras, the stage lights, and the crowd.
But was he really that drunk to kiss Jun in the midst of their heated conversation?
Apparently he is. And he was soon sober enough to pull away as quickly as he could.
Silence engulfed them as Sho thinks of what he should say next. Apologizing is the obvious rational action, he thinks; and maybe, just maybe, they could return to how they were and not be self-conscious about it if he reasoned out very well.
But another part of him just wants to explode and confess that he liked him all these years and that being just friends for more than a decade is torturing him in more ways than anyone could ever imagine (although he knows that it's just him being incredibly selfish).
All thoughts flew out of the window when Jun kissed him hungrily - like he waited all these years to do this. Sho rationalized within himself that he shouldn’t do this, that Jun is also drunk (maybe more drunk than himself) and that they may regret it later.
When Jun pulled away and smiled to say “I’ve been waiting for this for a long time” to Sho, the latter initiated another kiss, letting his emotions and instincts take over. Sho just knew that he hasn’t been this happy for a long time.
Jun stayed over and when morning came, the younger man beside him beamed like Sho was the most beautiful thing in the world. Sho smiled back and held Jun’s hand; never wanting to let go. He’d think to himself, what if others found out? Would it work out? Would Jun regret it - regret this?
A quick peck on his cheek followed by, “We’ll be late” by Jun makes Sho forget his worries, at least for the moment.
Sho knows that Jun was worth every try even if his rational mind thinks otherwise.
