Are we still allowed to post treats and things like that after the deadline? In past years I've spent my Christmas Eve mornings spent filling random prompts.
Yes, you can! You can post full-length works to the main collection until 9am UTC December 25, and you can post works to Madness for a further day, until 9am UTC December 26.
Here are some posts on how, when, and where to post treats:

Same question as above-does this deadline also apply to Treats(for the main collection or the madness post)? Or can we still post treats until Dec 25th? Thanks!

Thanks very much! One other question: when I post a story, if it says it posted successfully, but I can't see it because the reveal date isn't here yet, can I assume it made it safely into the community? Thanks!

Yes, that's correct. You can also access your work through your Statistics page or through your Works in Collections page, and when you look at it, you will be able to see it is in the Yuletide collection.
Sure. Pinch hits #99-152 are due at 9am UTC 20 December - 48 hours after the regular deadline. Once the main assignment deadline passes and we start sending pinch hits again, those will be due at 9am UTC 22 December, so pinch hitters who pick those up will have just under 4 days to write.
Heyyyy, soooo, I wrote down in my records that fics were due Dec 18, and I just assumed it was at midnight. I've posted my story now, but my assignment was defaulted on. Is this going to mess me up for next year?
That's a pretty dangerous assumption! Even if it was midnight, whose midnight? Next year please click the deadline timers that we provide.
Since this is the second year in a row that you missed the deadline and contacted us after the fact, we will also ask you to write a New Year's Resolution story.
The New Year's Resolutions 2018 collection will open on January 1. The story you post in this collection needs to be over 1,000 words and written for someone's past Yuletide prompt. Prompts from previous years are allowed as long as the fandom would have still been rare enough to qualify for Yuletide in 2017.
You are not permanently banned if you do not write a NYR story next year. Instead, you can write a full-length treat in Yuletide 2018, or write a 2019 NYR story, to ensure you can sign up in Yuletide 2019, and so on.
Please also send us an email when you've completed your story, or if you have any problems uploading it.
