How to Nominate!

  1. Decide on what to nominate! (The best/hardest step of all.) By nominating fandoms you ensure they will be available to offer and request in Yuletide this year. You can nominate up to 3 fandoms with a maximum of 4 characters each.

What about anthologies? Are they eligible? Also, what if I want to nominate one author's story in particular in the anthology?

Anthologies are tricky, however short stories (or series of short stories) are eligible (Title - Author, same as books).

Your fandom tag looks fine!

And Michelle Obama (Slam Poem), same with other characters, would be helpful - mostly to make sure they don't then show up in another fandom, like 21st Century USA Politics or similar.

I'm not precisely sure how it's a fanwork, sorry, could you help me out there?

Okay! I may be wrong, but I would think slam poetry would have more in common with spoken-word music pieces, or possibly in this case historical musicals, than with fanworks as a general category.

A link to the poem, especially in text, couldn't hurt, though.

Is there a way to narrow TV shows that significantly changed over the years they ran down to a specific part of them?

I really want to nominate "Hallo Spencer", which was a German kiddie show, at first played exclusively with puppet-characters (think Muppets, only not monsters) living in a village. Later the show was moved to a city-setting and finally even filled with cartoon-ish things. What I want are the episodes in the village. So my question:
Would "Hallo Spencer (Village episodes)" work as a fandom tag?
Or how would I best go about it? Additional characters were introduced over the later years, but the old ones still showed up as well, so they're no help to differentiate it.

Normally, we don't allow people to split up TV series in this way - especially if they evolve gradually. You can nominate a section of the TV series (the village episodes), but please make a post to the Evidence Post showing how they are clearly different series before and after the point you mention. Your suggested tag is OK, but something showing a period of time might also work.

Hope that helps.

I don't suppose it's allowed to nominate a fandom twice so you can get more characters? :P I really want to nominate The Lunar Chronicles, but choosing only four of the main eight characters is so hard!

No - the tagset interface doesn't allow that, sorry.

It's okay, I assumed that was the case and I was (mostly) joking anyways. I did manage to choose four characters out of the main eight.

It doesn't mess things up, but you also probably don't need to.

Book - Author; definitely don't need to
TV series with a distinctive name - probably not
TV series with a single-word or generic name - check wrangling guidelines, and add something like (TV 2015) or (US TV) or (UK TV 2004) to it.
Etc.
Does that help?
