Yuletide IRC

Since I'm a proud believer that you can't start to procrastinate or panic too early, I thought I'd mention the yuletide IRC channel. There is a short FAQ entry on it, but it appears that the links to mIRC (Windows IRC client) and ircle (MacOS IRC client) have been lost from that FAQ. There is also a Java/Web interface provided by sff.net.

Are there instructions to get in for the many who are just trying LJTalk, and have never done IM or IRC before?

If your computer can handle it, the Java/Web interface he linked takes care of just about everything, no fuss. *IRC-incompetent who just tested it*

I wanted to thank you both for posting this, and calling my attention to the "lost" links in the FAQ -- they are back in, now, along with the link to the web interface!

Problem Connecting

I'm using mIRC but when I try to connect onto irc.sff.net, it keeps saying

"unable to connect to server (software caused connection abort)"

The same message appears when I try to use the Java/Web interface.

Help?

Unfortunately I've been away for a week. Even more unfortunately I have no idea what the solution to your problem is. Is your firewall interfering? Umm...
