Are the six fandoms we nominate while brainstorming the only ones we're going to be able to pick from when we request a story? Because some of the fandoms I wanted to request in were already on the fandom list from previous years so I just picked what I would want to write in instead of wasting the slots.

No, you'll be picking from the full list of fandoms nominated this year, but only from fandoms nominated this year. If you don't nominate it, you risk not getting fandoms you really want to request; inclusion on the master list of fandoms does not guarantee that any given fandom will be nominated, unless you nominate it.

Okay, this might very well be one of those silly redundant questions, but it's been that kind of a week and, between the general unpredictability of scripts and computers and my tired mind, I need things spelled out for me. *g*

From a previous post: While you are free to change your mind at any point during the sign-up process, and resubmit your request, it will replace your original request.X picks a fandom, F, from the existing list. On the next page X corrects a character's name, adds a couple of characters to F. The next day the fickle X changes her mind and resubmits her nomination without fandom F. Will her other changes be erased as a consequence? I would have *assumed* they're not, and if Z picks F she'll find the corrections and the extra characters available

You're assuming correctly, the changes will not be erased -- the added characters & corrected name stay even if X drops fandom F from her list of nominations.
