Nominations!
Hi all, popping in with an early heads-up about Yuletide nominations for this year!
As you may recall, last year we ended up with over 4500 fandoms -- so many that the tickybox signup form fell over and died for people browsing from slower computers, so we had to switch to autocomplete midstream. So, this year, we are taking some steps to chop the list down to still vast but slightly less wacky length.
The main point:
Everyone will get THREE fandom nominations. (You will still be allowed to nominate up to four characters per fandom.)
Yes, that means if you want to make four requests, one of your requests will have to be a fandom that someone else nominated. This is a feature and not a bug! :D We hope that we can kill two birds with one stone here and make it more likely that everyone has a match by causing more overlap.
So, if you are one of the early planners and already have your list of six, now is the time to start gnashing your teeth and wailing and cutting it in half. Sorry! ♥
In other news, we will be doing nominations on the AO3, and will be looking for help testing and managing the nominations list -- please watch this space! Nominations will most likely happen early October this year, and signups in late October.
