Artist notes: No matter how many weird ways DC comics tries to mess her up, Black Canary's still one of my favorite characters ever. I had a hard time picking between two ideas for this drawing--so I didn't.

I love each of these on their own, but together they both make the other pop so much! Beautiful! :D

I like the second one best, with her hair floating in such a pretty way, and her thoughful expression, but the first has a nice sense of action (Go kickass Dinah!)

I love the duality of this piece: Dinah's strength and confidence on the left, and her vulnerability and humanity on the right. Very nice! You have some really excellent shading going on in the first piece (very dramatic and impressive), and I love the ethereal quality to the other, as well as her facial structure (the cheekbones!). Great work.

Eeeee I loooove seeing Dinah in action, leaping and kicking baddies in the face. It's neat how you contrast her action and confidence with a closer, more vulnerable portrait of her. Great contrast!

Thank you! Dinah is so awesome and kickass that I just had to draw her in action! I'm really glad you like the contrast, I was worried that the pictures might be too different. It was fun to juxtapose those two sides of Dinah.
