Oneshot: Bonds
Sitting in their usual spot at the library, her favorite meeting place, Mayuko looks up from her science book with an amused look.
"Hey, Kamiki-kun, did you know diamond is the strongest substance in the world?"
Not waiting for Kamiki's reply, she continues with eagerness, "It shares carbon bonding in a compressed structure, and carbon-carbon bonds are considered to be very stable."
"But carbon bonds are not the strongest in the world." Kamiki shakes his head.
"What are you talking about? But our chemistry book said..."
"Love is the strongest bond in the world." He grins.
After a moment of silent, Mayuko leans close and pokes him teasingly, "So who are you in love with, Kamiki-kun?"
Looking around to make sure nobody is watching, Kamiki plants an unsuspected peck on her cheek.
"You, silly." He quickly hides his blushed face behind the book in his hand.
"How cheesy!" Mayuko slaps his shoulder playfully before returning to her reading. Her face wearing a sweet smile as her hand unconsciously reaches for that spot where his lip made contact.
