This one also doubts that they think of you as the worst teacher ever. The children just had very high expectations of the class, that they did. All they want is to be prepared should such a thing that happened at the ball occur again.

I can't prepare anyone if I don't know what happened. I wasn't there. I don't know what went on or what anyone did. Forgive me for needing a little research before I could begin my class.

That is true but asking every student about their experience during such an event is no longer merely asking what happened. Some of them may have not yet gotten over what had occurred and it may be painful for them to think of it. Also, such 'research' is not needed to teach a class about defending themselves, that it is not.

I didn't force anyone to tell me. They told me of their own accord. If they didn't want to tell me, I merely gave them an alternate assignment.
