Chapter 44

There is such a thing called patience and for Aoi and Reita, at the moment, it was not to be found in great amounts. There were too many words not spoken, feelings kept on hold and hopes waiting to be answered for the two to actually take their time and look for a perfect spot. Still, sometimes, you find exactly what you are looking for when and where you don’t even bother looking.

The forest was vibrant with noise and smell and feel and wherever they turned their gaze they were met with powerful greens and delicate multi-coloured flowers, and up above was the clear blue of the sky; finding its way though the torrent of greens seeped the deep brown of the earth. Both of them felt safe but it took a special place to finally feel at home.

They stopped because of the pure and delicate yet spicy smell that virtually attacked their nostrils and forced them to take a good look around. They were surrounded by the same trees that had led their way so far, except that around the trunk, multiple layers of vines entwined themselves to such a degree that it was hard to distinguish the bark anymore. The paddle-like big green leaves left place here and there for the quite big but delicate white flowers, with petals so thin that they resembled the sun’s rays of light. Only the flower’s lip, like the bell of a trumpet braved the gazes of the passers-by and the fragility of its proportions.

At the foot of one of those trees, surrounded by the powerful scent of vanilla, the two of them finally stopped and sat down to talk.

“Rei?” Aoi started, shy and unsure, not even certain that his own vice was loud enough to be heard. The place, Reita’s arms tightly wrapped around his waist, the smell of the flowers and the forest combined with Reita’s scent, everything had his senses in overdrive.

“Aoi, I want you to know I’m extremely mad at you for jumping in battle like that and positively furious for getting yourself killed.”

Aoi was a bit miffed at that. It wasn’t as if he had gotten himself killed on purpose…

“But losing you made me realize just how much I care about you. Realizing that I love you made me come back after you and bring you back. And I never plan on letting you get away again.”

For a second, Reita’s arms were almost crushing him with their strength, but Aoi wouldn’t have said anything even if he were suffocating, because he was already dizzy with every word that left Reitas lips.

“We’re bonded, you know? That medallion around your neck is proof of that.”

Aoi looked down at the small round disc and the image etched on it almost caused tears to flow from his eyes. He really was Reita’s now and Reita was his.

The tiger was just grateful to see that small smile on the other’s face, see his moist eyes filled with love and the blush on his cheeks, all things that at one point he wasn’t sure he’d ever get to see again and now, having Aoi this close was maddening him with happiness.

“How? What happened?”

“It was all a trap, the creature was supposed to kill Ruki and Kai but you jumped in. I almost gave up when you died. Left you buried in the desert but during that night, I couldn’t stay away.” Reita decided not to tell Aoi what he would have done if he couldn’t have brought the other back. It would not make his lover happy and was not important anymore. But somehow Aoi sniffed the truth, for he knew Reita a little bit too well not to see what he was hiding. But contrary to Reita’s expectations - he always seemed to surpass those- he did not throw a tantrum or get mad at the tiger, but was simply happy that things turned out the way they did.

“And well, after that, everything was a bit of an adventure, directed by that bloody owl. In the end, I found out that mercury was my element and realized what I needed to say to bind myself to you.”

“What is it, Rei?”

“You don’t know it?”

Aoi shook his head.

“The words are different for everyone.”

“Then tell me yours.”

Aoi grumbled about it not being anything fancy or even overly romantic, but Reta would hear nothing of it.

“I have never felt love, but I love you, I have never had a family, you will be my family, everything I have never had I will only want from you and with you and everything I am and have, I share with you. I bond with you, Reita, I bond myself to you, with a tie that nothing and no one can break, not even me.”

Reita was awed at hearing the bond that Aoi had had to do by himself, when Reita didn’t even remember his existence, let alone feel like he wanted to start a relationship with him. Aoi had truly bonded himself to Reita for eternity, no matter if the tiger would ever correspond or not. Only now did the tiger truly value and feel the power of those feelings.

“I bound myself to you. My body belongs to the earth and my soul belongs to the skies, but my heart is only yours and if you accept it, will forever belong only to you. I take you as my mate, past, present and future. I love you and I'll never let you go, Aoi.”

These had been the words he had felt and spoken then and the words that came out from his heart now, along with a cry for the other, for the two of them to finally be together. So Reita leant over Aoi, who turned his head enough to be able to correspond to Reita’s fiery kiss. It started as a collision of lips and an Armageddon of tongues searching each other, exploring, wanting to rob something from the other and keep it treasured. Reita slowly, like a tiger stalking his pray, without letting go of Aoi and without stopping the kiss, step by step came to kneel in front of his mate. With the change in position and those strong arms wound around him, as if they were protecting him from the world, Aoi felt for the first time in his life that he was truly home, protected, that he did not need to push anymore, to struggle and cry and be in pain, that finally he was allowed to let go and simply be and be loved. He just clutched at Reita’s shirt and let everything in his love’s hands.

Reita felt the change in pace and his lips became gentler, his tongue lingering, his hands mapping slowly the other’s form. Like rain seeping into the ground, their slow kiss bled into his heart and left unmistakable scars in its wake; loving scars, open scars, with roots deep into his very soul. Reita knew he’d never be able to feel so much without his mate by his side. Drop by drop, love trickled into his soul and Aoi’s essence gathered into his very being, to the point where Reita felt like bursting, he felt like a drowning man hanging on to a floating stalk. There simply wasn’t enough air and yet, Aoi was his air. He needed him more than he had ever needed anything in his life.

Hands deftly removed layers of cloth and searched for soft, silky skin. Like leafs falling from a tree, Aoi’s shirt fell to the ground, clearing the way for Reita’s invading hands which carefully mapped every inch of it, like a pirate searching for hidden treasure. Reita must have made a very successful pirate for he found Aoi’s weaknesses, how he moaned and sighed and how his lashes beat a bit harder or his breath came just a bit heavier when Reita touched just the right place. Aoi was more beautiful than the superb crown jewels he had once admired so, his very own treasure to admire and love.

Aoi was much too overwhelmed by this flood of pleasure to think about struggling against it and Reita was just as happy in the role of carrying him away. He never stopped his assault, not even when removing his own shirt and pants. The band covering half of his face was long gone by that moment.

It was much more than physical pleasure to Aoi, it was the feeling of being loved; he could feel every caress with his very soul. He had known physical pleasure before, in ways he would rather not remember then. He was by no means pure but even the filth he felt he carried with him always was being washed away, without a trace, by Reita’s fingers and mouth. He felt light, almost like floating and at the same time, he was heating up, to a point where he didn’t know whether he could handle it anymore. And yet he craved for more, his heart wished for more and his body was showing his willingness. Not for a moment did it occur to him to hide himself from the rays of the sun, the caress of the wind and Reita’s eyes. He was Reita’s, everything he was, was the tiger’s.

Just for a split second did it cross his mind that he should tell Reita about what had happened years back, those times he hadn’t been faithful to his love, not by his will, but another’s. But he opened his eyes and was met with the loving azure ones of his mate, burning for him. The past wasn’t of consequence any longer: he was home, safe and loved, in a way he had never truly hoped for. It was more than enough. His life was being rewritten and the person he was before was disappearing, melting into a new man, Reita’s mate.

He needed though to be permanently broken and then welded back again, all by Reita’s hands and love. So he didn’t hold his voice back and he pleaded Reita for more and the tiger complied. Fingers reached deep within him, stretching not only his body, but also his heart. And then Reita himself was merging with him, leading him to new heights and sensations. And at the apex of it all, he was jumping off a cliff, hand in hand with his lover, taking a part of him within himself, proof that he would never be his own again. Neither did he want to.

The wind breeze stroked their sweaty sin and dishevelled Aoi’s long strands of hair, sticking them to their skin, as if wanting to draw the two even closer. Reita looked at his mate, still holding him tight within himself, splayed underneath him looking up with those deep black orbs.

“You look utterly ravished.” Reita’s voice was deeper and rougher than usual, like something was choking him and refusing to let go.

“And who’s at fault for that?” Aoi’s eyes were shining, stars piercing through the dark sky.

“I do accept responsibility. You can punish me in any way you want.” He kissed Aoi’s cute nose. He still felt like kissing Aoi all over again, but was certain that the chance would always be there, and with the years he’d get to know his lover’s skin better than his own.

“What if I want to reward you?” Aoi’s tone was playful with just a little teasing quality and he moved his hips and then arched up in a feline way when Reita touched that sensitive spot inside him again.

Reita felt himself getting excited inside the other, after barely moments since the last time.

“You’re going to be the death of me.” He chuckled before letting out a strangled moan.

“Then we’ll die together.”

That’s how their bodies rekindled a burning flame and reprised the eternal dance of love, under the clear skies and the green crowns of the trees, the scented vanilla flowers and a giggling swarm of fairies who were very delighted with the show and just to show their appreciation, thought about gifting the two with the greatest gift. Neither Aoi nor Reita noticed the glowing yellow powder falling over them and the small little lights flickering all around them.

Under the protection of the fairies, a new life was being born, while miles away, in a cold stone castle, a Shen was breaking loose of his chains. At the same times, enraged blood red eyes were following the travellers hatefully, planning against the travellers and the Shen. He had already planted a seed of hate.

However, fate was no longer with him and a new gale was working towards turning all his plans against him.

A/N: I'm early! But since I'm on summer vacations... Hope you liked it. The music played a part also, but I'm not exactly a very grapic author either. I find it that when trying to write porn I just can't express something that is very important for me.
That said, I didn't have in plans mpreg on this one. And my bunnies have betrayed me again. If you really mind, tell me, and I'll make some bunny stew and hire new help. On the other hand, it's not going to be graphic and probably only be referred to (if my bunnies listen to me and if you don't want all that fluff included).
I'm hoping you still like it and you'll let me know about anything you've thought or felt. Squishes. Bunnies bow and pray for their lives.
