Chapter 3
Gackt had mentally prepared himself for today's meeting but it seems he hadn't prepared himself enough since the man was even worse than he had imagined. He got there punctually at 2 and until 2:30 he still hadn't met this wonderful violinist and he was getting quite mad actually.
"Gackt-san, I seemed to have lost you for a moment there."
"Oh no, not at all, Tekimura-san, I find your conversation extremely fascinating."
"It's just that my prodigy doesn't seem to be here yet.", Tekimura answered.
Maybe it's not even a son-in-law but a son. God, what have I gotten myself into, Gackt thought but put on one of his best smiles and said :
"Normally there wouldn't be a problem, Tekimura-san, but you see I do have an appointment at 4 o'clock so if there has been an accident of some sorts I would like to know and we could reschedule this meeting on a day when my schedule isn't so crowded."
"A famous person like yourself, Gackt-san, all of your days must be crowded. I am so sorry for inconveniencing you. Where could the boy possibly be?!"
That's what I'd like to know. Gackt thought.
At that moment, suddenly a violin started playing. It was his violin, the sound he had been searching for so he didn't sped time in asking:
"I'm sorry, Tekimura-san, would you mind telling me where does that sound come from?"
"Well, it must be from one of the rehearsal rooms. I was sure everyone had gone to have lunch though."
"I am so curious as to whom it is playing. Would you mind me heading that way while we wait?"
"No....not at all..."
Hearing the other man's answer Gackt thought I bet you mind, but I'll be damned if I'll let you stop me! while walking through the door that lead to the practce rooms.
"Ah, Nakamura, you're finally here, what kept you?"
Hearing the man's voice, Gackt suddenly turned around. He couldn't believe his luck. Just as he was about to find That violin...In front of Tekimura was a young beautiful boy. Semi long hair that touched his shoulders, black like crow's feathers with only some lonely red highlights in the front. Deep, dark, almond eyes on a flawless face. Long lashes, perfectly defined nose and of my God, such perfect lips. Gackt knew he had in front of him an Adonis or at least someone really close. The boy's body was equally beautiful. He was slightly shorter than Gackt but he had an equally perfectly defined body. And his hands, that Gackt could see holding the violin were just truly violinist's hands: lithe, soft and just perfect. The boy was, in one word, gorgeous. And Gackt had always loved gorgeous things. So for a few seconds he simply forgot about the song still playing in the background and approached the boy.
"I'm glad we can finally meet. I'm Gackt Camui. Pleasure to make your acquaintance. Ive been told that you are quite the talent. Would you mind performing a bit for me?", he said, flashing his usual charm.
While blushing (which made him look even better, if that were possible), the boy replied.
"I'm so happy to meet you. My name is Nakamura Ryosuke. And I am not the least bit talented but uncle here tends to brag to everyone he meets. I am so glad to meet you, Gackt-san, I've been a fan for so long. Unfortunately, I do not believe my skills are worthy of your attention..."
Ha, nephew. I knew it. Still, I should be glad to the old man, it's been a while since I've met such a beauty., Gackt thought.
And then the violin stopped. Just realizing this, Gackt suddenly turned. But now it was too late to leave. And maybe the violin had been a sign that he would actually meet the right person this time.
"Nakamura-san, won't you play for me?" Gackt asked the boy.
The boy lifted his guitar and after adjusting it a bit he started playing. He was elegant and he was indeed good. The song had a warmth to it. He was far from being a prodigy but still, he did manage to touch Gackt's heart with the piece.
"I'm sorry but I need you to sing one specific song. Just follow my voice and make the song for yourself." Gackt said and then started singing. His voice echoed through the halls and timidly, the boy played a long, stumbling along the way but playing not that bad. But when Gackt stopped, the boy stopped too.
"Couldn't you find an ending for me? That's what I need a violinist for, finding me the perfect ending."
The boy just looked at him, stunned.
"But Gackt-san, you can't pretend for anyone to compose a suitable ending after only hearing the song once..."Tekimura started but was cut off by the vocalist.
"That's why I'm searching the perfect violinist for, Tekimura-san, and that's precisely why I haven't found him yet. (Turning towards the boy) I'm truly sorry, it seems that you weren't the one after all."
The boy was struck. Couldn't move. Gackt was equally disappointed though. He should have followed the song he had heard. Now it was too late. Or maybe not?
"I'm sorry to impose on you, but Tekimura-san, could I take a look at the rehearsal rooms?"
"What for, Gackt-san? They should all be closed by know." I'm sure you suspect, but are mad as hell for me not choosing your precious nephew. See if I care. "Just a whim of a celebrity, Tekimura-san. I'm sure it wouldn't take long."
Hearing that, the orchestra conductor just had to comply. It would have been quite rude otherwise. So he just headed with Gackt towards the rehearsal rooms, leaving the boy behind.
Once they got there they opened every one of them. Small, cozy rooms with lots of instruments and tabs but no one in them. Gackt was really depressed about now. When, in the last room, exactly when he was about to leave, he spotted a small bracelet next to a violin. The chain was broken so it must have fallen without the owner realizing it. There was nothing written on it except 3 words : 青の幻想. (vision of blue). And Gackt's heart started beating painfully. He knew he had found him. That is, once he'd actually get to meet him. His violinist.
This time Gackt had a feeling that he was on the right track. He knew that the boy was in the Philarmonic so all he had to do was go there when they were having a performance and he should be able to hear that very distinct violin from all the others. Getting to see a show wasn't difficult at all but he still had one problem. With a Philarmonic as big as the Tokyo one not all the violinists would appear in one show and no matter how much Gackt loved opera he still had to hurry up. He had wasted enough time already. So next best thing was rehearsal time.
"Tekimura-san, I've just realized that I haven't listened to an opera concert in quite some time. But you see for the next few months my evening schedule is quite hectic since I have several parties that I must attend to...so I was wondering if you could at least let me see your wonderful orchestra rehearse. I would also love to hear Nakamura-kun playing again. Although his playing was not meant for my next song I am sure that in the future we could closely collaborate."
I'll make sure you say yes no matter how long it takes., Gackt thought.
"Why Gackt-san, so nice of you to say that. But i must admit that maybe there is more I can teach the boy and having you here, a man with your sense of music, would surely benefit my orchestra so I most welcome you on next weeks rehearsal. I will give you the schedule and you may come every time you like."
Ok, did the flattery actually do the job or does he know something he's not telling me? He couldn't possibly...
"Why Gackt-san, I believe you had an appointment at 4 o'clock?"
"While yes I do and oh my God it's already 3:30. Time in your company just flies so fast, Tekimura-san."
I'll have to wash my mouth later of all this flattering...
"Looking forward to seeing you next week, Gackt-san."
"Likewise, Tekimura-san. And thank you for today."
That's how the day ended. And then the weekend. He was practically pacing back and forth in his apartment waiting for Tuesday. (He couldn't possibly go from the first day since that would seem suspicious.)
And then Tuesday came. Gackt put on a nice fit pair of leather pants (he really loved those) and for an elegant touch, over a white designer's shirt a black jacket. Styled his hair, put on the usual make-up and left. He hadn't felt that nervous in a long time.
When he got there, the orchestra was practicing already, just like he had predicted. So he just made himself comfortable and started listening attentively to each and everyone player. Some younger players actually missed some notes when they saw him come in, but either than that they knew how to play their parts. But still, his violinist was not there. A disappointed Gackt started heading for the practice rooms, listening attentively to the sounds coming from them. Most were empty and when he got to the one he had found the bracelet in, although he did not hear a sound, he slowly opened the door.
On the small sofa a man was sleeping. The sun's rays that pierced the window and curtains softly landed on his fine features and golden hair and made him look ethereal. He was perhaps even more beautiful than Nakamura. He had something o pure about him, although it was obvious he was no longer a boy. The strong cheekbones were a proof of that, as well as his height (he lay sprawled on the small sofa, his feet dangling over one of the ends). But he didn't seem to be a violinist, his hands were a bit rough, closer to a guitarist's. So Gackt just had to convince himself this was not the man he wanted. But still, he somehow felt attracted to him, so he went closer to the sofa and on the floor, next to the sofa was indeed a guitar. Gackt wanted to chuckle and ask himself what was a guitarist doing in the Philarmonic but he didn't want to wake up the man and at the same time he did.
So he just stood on a chair and watched the man sleep. Until he realized how late it was and that he had to go. So he carefully stood up and left, not knowing that the man had been up from quite some time, carefully studying him under the cover of his long eyelashes. So when Gackt went away, he carefully stood up, looked at the door for a few minutes, picked up his guitar, opened its suitcase and placed it next to the violin before leaving himself.
