I just finished the most painful two hours and fifteen minutes of my life. Or at least the most EXCRUCIATINGLY LONG two hours and fifteen minutes. :p In other words, I had to proctor a midterm. We weren't allowed to read, write, play sudoku (even chemistry sudoku!) or even listen to music. All we could do was walk around and watch the students write. Going mad was starting to look like a highly valid option. All I had to entertain me was seeing the fishes. Fifteen minute intervals became exciting because I got to go change the board. :p
Yikes! What a policy. I'm glad that when I give my final exam to my students, I am allowed to read. I can't imagine doing nothing but walking around and watching people write for over 2 hours.
It's INSANE. We're not supposed to do ANYTHING distracting because they apparently catch at least one cheater every year in this course. It makes the prof paranoid.
When I proctored midterms at Mount A, I definitely did Japanese homework and wrote my Zoe/Wash ficathon fic. :p
It's a reference to Legally Blonde. The song "There! Right There!" is all about them trying to figure out if a witness who allegedly had an affair with their client "Is he gay... or European?" (The final revelation being of course that he's both :p)
