I love my sewing machine. I sat down and made the blouse for my Garnet costume in a single sitting. I can't think of HOW long that would have taken to do by hand ( Read more... )

I am in total admiration of you. Anyone who can take a sewing machine and make actual clothing from it - wow! That is just so cool.

I guess a thing or two from middle school home ec stuck with me. :p

It's SO much easier than doing everything by hand, I'll say that much. :p

I think it's such a great skill to have.

And you're not really giving someone a Borg ship, are you? :)

It definitely came in handy when the pockets on my dresspants decided to give out. :p

No, it's just a cube shaped box. Though I'm sure certain family members would appreciate a Borg ship. :p

I'm more impressed that you used to do everything by hand, frankly. I can't sew an even seam to save my life (though I suppose it might just be a matter of practise).

I've seen the first appearance of the model crime scenes; I was disappointed to have missed the continuation, but I'll probably catch a rerun at some point. I think the idea is that it's some bizarre serial killer intimately acquainted with each crime scene, which you'd think would help them after more than one shows up, but maybe not. I have no idea how things go, so I'm speculating. :P

General consensus was that I was out of my mind for doing everything by hand. Especially the River Dress of Doom. :p

I'll give them the bizarre, that's for sure. :p

But then, general consensus is that you're out of your mind, period. ^_~ And I can't see doing the River Dress of Doom on a machine without something going terribly, horribly wrong.

Well... yeah. :p

And a machine could have eaten it pretty easily. :p

They're actually incredibly awkward to get the paper around. :p

Right. I just remembered about the corners and edges. I believe you hafta get one side done, then fold on the remaining open sides.

...but dont really pay too much mind to ANY gift wrapping advice i have to give...simply cause everything i wrap outside of gift bags ends up looking like CRAP. The only reason your aniversary gifts looked decent was that niko helped. :P
