A house in Everett had been found with at least 40 cats abandoned, unfed, unwatered, unheated, in one of the coldest snaps in January we've had for a long time.

Giving up a beloved pet is a painful thing to do, but sometimes, it might be the right thing for them, and you in the long run.

Oh, SO CUTE!!! It's a big secret but I love tuxedo cats. ;)
And if Mini is with Frank, at least you'll see her again, I would think. Sending a cat to "strangers" would be worse, I would imagine, as you would be saying "good bye" instead of "see you later".
But it's still gotta suck. I could never send my Baby anywhere (or my huggy Bear, for that matter!).
