"Bearers of Witness with Justice"
Continuing the tale of the whalers is the free-verse poem "Bearers of Witness with Justice." This is the trial, so WARN ALL THE THINGS! But like it says on the tin, there is justice served.

Moving the trial to the waterfront
produced all kinds of challenges,
from the legal to the logistical.
After some negotiation, they decided
to hold the preliminaries in the courtroom,
since the whales had little interest in
such human details, and that reduced
the amount of time needed on the docks.
"Changing Relations"
From this I got the free-verse poem "Changing Relations." Lorina's cat isn't speaking to her, Alexandria has flea trouble, and Randie's yard is a jungle. Some of these things are easier to fix than others.

Even though things in town had
settled down some, Leo and Olivia
kept dropping by periodically
to make sure things were okay.

When Ziggy went into heat,
Darelle contacted Alicia, who
brought Judd to visit.
The two horses had flirted
and played until Ziggy was
ready to mate -- which they did
several times -- and that was that.
