"Astronauts and Angels" -- 26 lines, $15 SOLD to Star*Line
I put your "astronauts" prompt together with "angels" (also requested by some other people) to get "Astronauts and Angels," a free-verse poem that compares the similarities between the two, and what they can teach us.
"Dealing With Dragons" -- 23 lines, $10
Earlier
aldersprig offered an image prompt. "Dealing With Dragons" is a poem about shapeshifting and inner nature, and how hidden truths are revealed.
"Eggs Under Moon" -- 28 lines, $15
Another iteration of the dragon prompt from
xjenavivex yielded the poem "Eggs Under Moon," about finding a nest on the beach.
"High Hunger" -- 11 lines, $10
From the winged foods I got "High Hunger," a free-verse poem that explains why humans like to eat such things.
"Lunar Moths" -- 18 lines, $10
I combined the lunar moth with the liminal time to get "Lunar Moths," a poem which compares the pupating moth to the human species preparing to colonize the Moon. This poem is written in unrhymed tercets.
"Mouseflight" -- 17 lines, $10
The photo of the owl and the mouse led to "Mouseflight," a free-verse poem that contrasts positive and negative images of death.
"
The Rainbow Layers" -- 12 lines, $10 SOLD
From the green egg I got the poem "The Rainbow Layers," about the Araucana chicken and its many-colored eggs.
"Skysight" -- 20 lines, Buy It Now = $10
From your prompt about bats I got "Skysight," which describes the exquisite perception and agility of bats, contrasted against humanity's clumsier efforts. This one is written in unrhymed quatrains.
"Sound the Spring Trumpets" -- 24 lines, $10
xjenevivex responded to the advance post with "dragon dragon dragon dragon" and much excitement. So "Sound the Spring Trumpets" is a poem in which people are excited to see dragons. This poem is free verse, written in hexads.
"Stormseed" -- 30 lines, $15
From your prompt about electric rays, I got "Stormseed," which is written in unrhymed tercets. Myth and Science beget the lightning ray, and then things get interesting.
"Time Flies" -- 56 lines, $20
I combined your prompt about "flies to wanton boys" with
minor_architect's prompt about winged insects and
aldersprig's prompt about why humans don't have wings. "Time Flies" is a poem about how the winged creatures of Earth and the humans fought their way to an alliance, defying gods and time to achieve not just flight, but starflight. It is written in rhymed couplets.
"Twice-Winged, Half-Souled" -- 34 lines, $15
From
aldersprig's early prompt "half angel and half demon" I got the poem "Twice-Winged, Half-Souled." It tells about a daeva who does not fit either heaven or hell, and what happens when a false dichotomy is broken.
"Wings of Stone" -- 17 lines, Buy It Now = $10
The prompt about flying buttresses inspired the free-verse poem "Wings of Stone," which explains all the obvious reasons why a cathedral can fly ... and why it eventually does.
