2009 was a real kidney-punch of a year in so many ways.  I had some of the worst moments in my life, emotionally, and some of the absolute best.  I saw my family grow closer; I saw my mother lose coherency and drift away in dementia.  I gained a wonderful sister and some new friends; I lost some friends and mended a damaged friendship or two.  I
