Oh man... Bob's chasing the Funny Looking Kitties (the ferrets), the ferrets are chasing the Weird Looking Weasle Without A Tail, and... I severely suspect I'm going to end up with a cat who thinks he's a ferret.  Not that this is a BAD thing, necessarily.  Tan's a little leery of Bob and shies away, but Kit has played with him and Chai keeps ( Read more... )

Tell me how the porn was. ^_^ I'm glad that you're feeling better.

I think gardening is a great idea. I'd love to help you out, just feel free to holler at me to do some of the dirty work. ;) We used to garden when I was little, and I have good memories of it. I haven't been able to try any as an adult except for a couple of failed window box gardens.

Um... you can't quite seem to decide on what gender Bob is on the open paragraph...

Am reminded of the hydroponic gardens I saw in EPCOT several years ago. scroll down to see the strawberry pillars, they've changed the pillars, they were originally square pots set at 45degrees on top of each other.
The idea is that you water the top one, and the water trickles down to the rest. And in this case, they possibly could shade themselves from the sun-?

Erk! Thenkyew; fixed it..... Hydroponics is a thought (and thanks for the link); only problem is that out here everything evaporates so damn quickly that using something water-based is a bit counter-productive. Raised bed gardening, though... you make a little microclime when you do that; and if I shade things thoroughly enough, the evaporaton'll drip back down. In my first apartment over here at Ridgewood I had a large veggie-garden that I grew in a kid's sandbox that somebody had built in the backyard; if you raise the sides of the garden about a foot to a foot-and-a-half up, you eliminate most of the weeds and problems with grass growing through, and you can water a LOT more efficiently.
You got me looking into some of the alternative planting methods, though; think I might try some suspended plantings-- might be fun. Milk-jug plants! Wonder how the morning-glories would do in perforated milk-jugs? o_O

Hmmm. I need a gardening icon...
