it's a brand new day

When he first begins to wake, he feels very foggy, very confused. He's not even sure what time of day it is. All he knows is that his head aches a little bit and he doesn't want to move ( Read more... )

Theta is still in a half-sleep himself when Koschei stirs. He's not managed to fall asleep completely but sometimes, he finds himself a little unsure if five minutes had just passed by or if it had actually been five hours.

Mumbling soft words of nonsense, he curls closer to the other boy, one arm moving to tighten it's hold and he presses close. There was no desire to move lurking within him and he rather hoped to try and cox the other boy into feeling the same way.

“G'mornin',” he finally greets, a sleepy smile resting on his lips. “Er, night I s'pose.” The suns had long ago set and now a copper moon spills it's light against the boys instead.

"Hullo," he offers, nuzzling close to Theta. He wraps one of his arms around the other boy so that he might move a little bit closer. "Didn't wake you up, did I?"

His words are a stoic mumble, quiet and sleepy. Stretching a little, he lets out a deep sigh.

"I like it here," he says, finally, voice a whisper. Looking up to Theta, he gives the hint of a smile.

“Nope,” he responds before pressing his face against a pillow for a moment to cover up a yawn. “”ve been sorta 'wake, sorta not.”

Watching the boy stretch, he finds himself dong the exact opposite, curling up even more beneath the blankets and closing his eyes. The fact that awareness was becoming more and more prominent to him is a fact Theta was hoping to ignore but it seemed that such things wouldn't be allowed to occur. This was, in his mind, a terrible tragedy, though not nearly as bad as it could be (at least he wasn't waking up to a day of classes he wouldn't be attending).

“S'good,” he replies before willing himself to sit up a little. “Really,” he continue. “M'glad you like it here. I wanted you to.”

And then he promptly flops back onto his pillow because he has priorities and, at the moment, they involve himself, covers, a pillow and Koschei if he's lucky.

Looking to Theta, he rolls his eyes and sits up completely. When he does wake up like this, though, he is awake. He partially hates himself for it, because he would much rather be sleepy and warm and comfortable.

Taking a deep breath, he gives another sigh and looks about the room that is not the one at the Academy at all. Turning back to the boy lying down, he reaches out a hand and fingertips trace his lips, jaw, cheek bones, eyelids... anything he can touch.

Even Theta feels different out at this place. His own mind isn't fogged by those drums and he loves it.

Fingertips slip up into the boy's hair once before they land back into his own lap. Pulling his knees to his chest, he looks to the window and to the unfiltered moonlight.

"I might go sit outside."
