What happened last night? Feelings were running high, and then...nothing? Usually that degree of emotion is associated with catharsis, but I didn't feel that

[Serrath had been wiped out, and more importantly, hungry from the previous days, he had rarely exerted that amount of energy. As a result, he piled his food onto his plate, taking a seat at one of the tables and proceeding to eat. Manners weren't exactly at the forefront of his mind, he was too hungry to consider them.]
Lika pushed up from her seat. She left her plate, since she wasn't sure she'd manage it--she'd almost dropped it the first time--and made her uncertain way over to the stranger's table.
[Batou's in the buffet, too, fetching more high-calorie food for himself and the Major. Sex takes a lot of energy, he's discovered, and so he makes careful calulations about how much food he should bring back to private quarters, how much they can eat before it goes stale, and if he really gives a damn.
[The effect of that one word is really amazing to behold. Lika looks at him, blinks a few times in confusion, and then an expression of dawning horror spreads over her face and she turns a delicate, sickly green.
The dry heaves are intense enough that she knocks over the chair she's in. She's fighting with every bit of self-control she has not to throw up, and she forgets that the stranger is watching her as she struggles against the pure disgust of having eaten animal, because she can't throw up in a place where there's food....
It's a losing battle until her helpmate, noticing her distress with its tiny computer brain, triggers a tranquilizer from her relief bracelet, and the full body convulsions die down to shudders as she lies curled up on the floor.]
[After a rough Tuesday, Kate found herself at the buffet, figuring she'd try some new foods. She was quite curious about things, making note of which foods she recognized and which were wholly new to her. She was a little afraid, though, after Remy's warning about "processed" foods. So whenever she found a label, she was sure to read the ingredients and not eat something if she was unfamiliar with a word in it.
This meant she filled her plate with fresh whole foods, fruits and vegetables and poultry or fish; she wasn't a "meat" fan. As she walked to the tables, she saw the slender woman sitting alone, and her hopes rose. Someone to talk to!.]
Hi there, my name is Kathrine, may I sit with you?
[The voice is familiar, and Lika considers the sound and the color of the spikes it causes in her vision. Ah, yes, the woman who invited her to the library earlier.]
Hello, Katherine. I'm Lika. We spoke earlier about planets.
Please, sit down.
[She smiles and indicates the chair across from her.]

Batou steps over and looks down at her.]
Miss, are you alright?

No.
[Oh great Saturn she's been eating dead animals since she got here. Despite the tranquilizer in her blood, she can still feel the nausea.]

[She smiled brightly as she took a seat.]
How are you handling it here? People have been saying that I seem to be handling it incredibly well, all things considered.
